A Collection Of The Very Best Luxury Watches From Wimbledon 2023

UPDATED AUGUST 2024

Wimbledon hits the spot of sporting prowess and fashionista’s strutting their stuff. I mean we’ve not had a chance to talk up the Rolex Wimbledon as a potential investment piece.

However, if you happened to catch the incredible Men’s Singles Final, you will be just as dumbfounded by Carlos Alcaraz’ success over arguably one of the all-time G.O.A.T’s, Serbian Novak Djokovic.

Time waits for no man as they say. The greats simply pave the way for new blood. Perhaps we witnessed the changing of the guard on the hallowed turf at SW19? This isn’t too dissimilar to the horological world either. While the greats like Patek Philippe or Audemars Piguet won’t be shifting any time soon, new breeds like Richard Mille or Hublot are easing their way into the top spot with their fascinating and somewhat interesting timepieces.

Dolled up in white and playing on exactly 8mm of premium grade grass, horse racing may be the sport of kings but Wimbledon is the sport for the elites. This was noted by the vast celebrity clientele on show that regularly frequent these prestigious events, flexing all sorts of timekeeping muscles.

It only makes perfect sense that the wristwear would be just as delectable and most importantly desirable! We won’t tease you any more. Let’s get into the strawberries and cream of the best luxury watches from Wimbledon 2023…Time Gentlemen, please.

Brand: Vacheron Constantin

The brand has been hugely successful in releasing highly reputable collections such as the Overseas while releasing the most expensive timepieces in the world, The Kallista, valued at around £9 million

But time and progress go hand in hand. Following on from their successes like receiving the first official Geneva Seal in 1901 or the world’s thinnest manual winding movement, the Calibre 1003 in 1955, The Vacheron Constantin 222 was released in 1977 as a forward thinking piece for an increasingly fast-changing society, marking 222 years of the brand.

Originally in yellow gold, Brad Pitt was spotted wearing this beauty at Wimbledon 2023 during the final match. And boy does he love the 222. He was spotted a few months ago showing this off in LA, donned only in a very casual tee and jeans. Measuring 38mm and crafted out of steel, it goes against its classic yellow gold construction, instead opting for a blue dial instead of cream.

Its rare material and dial face allows the 222 to be a solid option as a possible investment opportunity. If you want to wear it around the town, you could follow Brad Pitt’s footsteps and wear a cuban collar blue shirt with accompanying bracelets and rings. Smokin.

Don’t forget the aviator shades!

Price:

You can no longer buy a Rolex Daytona 116500LN Meteorite Dial at retail. You can buy it on the secondary market for around £80,000 at the time of writing.

Rolex has been pumping out around 1 million timepieces a year for us enthusiasts and collectors to sink our teeth into. Yet, it’s still not enough.

Founded in 1905, Rolex was the first to ascend Everest in 1953 with the Rolex Oyster Bubbleback. The Rolex Milgauss was the timepiece of choice used by CERN scientists from 1956 and need we mention the mighty Rolex Deepsea Special that reached the deepest point of the ocean in 2007?

We could guarantee that at least one person would be wearing a Rolex at Wimbledon 2023! Rolex was adorned by PGA star Ricky Fowler with his Day-Date as well as all-round tennis ledge, dapper gent and 8 time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer flexed out in a Rolex Sky-Dweller  with gorgeous blue dial.

Launched at Watches and Wonders 2023, this baby was spotted on just Day 2 at Wimbledon where Federer was greeted by an adoring crowd in the Royal box. Sure, Rolex has more than enough of a claim to fame. The Rolex Daytona is another iconic collection that has a storied history too. Launched in 1963, the collection had been associated with inevitable failure after its poor start to one of the most lauded collections ever produced by Rolex.

This is due to its ever so strong association with Paul Newman and his Daytona selling for around £15 million at auction in 2017. Mind you, 2023 Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz, at the tender age of 20 already has his bags packed on the dreamboat Rolex, one of the greatest horological brands of all time.

As an ambassador to Rolex and the youngest World Number 1 in the history of the ATP, he sported none other than the beautiful Daytona 116500LN on court with its meteorite dial. A nod to his meteoric rise to tennis stardom? Quite fitting for a young man who took the starlight express to victory!

Whether it was written in the stars, the tennis galaxies aligned in the final defeating Djokovic in a five-set thriller, lasting four hours and forty-two minutes.

Made from yellow gold, the watches feature a classic black Cerachrom bezel and superlative meteorite dial in a silvery hue. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, we love a damn good panda dial! Fitted with a black Oysterflex strap, the watches are without doubt flex ready for a photoshoot with the trophy!

The highly unorthodox dial design, precious metal construction and associations with the world class collection, ensures this Rolex Daytona to be a solid investment opportunity. We recommend letting the watches do the talking. We sa

Brand: Hublot

Hublot Big Bang Green Ceramic

Their releases of The Big Bang Unico Nespresso Origin 42mm, crafted out of recycled coffee capsules and coffee grounds shows the bizarre yet brilliant nature of the brand. That’s not all either, Timelords!

Recently releasing timepieces such as the Big Bang Tourbillon SAXEM Act II with its very own fluorescent allure due to its composition of "Sapphire Aluminium oXide and rare Earth Mineral", the brand continues to push to increasingly new boundaries of Haute Horology.

And Wimbledon 2023 was no different. This saw the Swiss brand being adopted a few times on some familiar faces. Hublot made its appearance on the wrist of Actor Noah Schnapp as he wore a black Big Bang Unico Skeleton. Of course, it was also on the wrist of another gentleman you might recognise who got pipped at the post…

2023 Australian and French Open champion Novak Djokovic rocked the Hublot Big Bang Green Ceramic after the Wimbledon final loss. If you’re going to lose, you may as well be graciously dolled up with a beautiful timepiece when it’s time to shake hands. Plus, we like the way he made time to kit out his wrist in a nod to the green lawns of the All England Club. A definite A for effort.

Crafted out of green ceramic, the watches are sized at 42mm and feature the classic 6 screw design. The case is satin brushed, allowing all eyes to be drawn to the majestic skeletonised dial.

Greener than the blades of grass he dived across all game, the watches use of ceramic, daring colour and suave skeletonised dial allows it to be a potentially solid investment option. Get on a green cashmere jumper and some black chinos for those day’s chilling out or let it do the talking at a swanky black tie affair.

Brand: Tudor

Model:

Tudor Black Bay 58

Price:

You can buy a Tudor Black Bay 58 at retail for £14,540 at the time of writing.

As the brainchild of Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf, the brand has been around since 1926 and under Rolex’s leading hand by 1936, giving us the good stuff ever since.

The Black Bay collection was released in 2012 as an updated version of the Submariner. Taking strong inspiration from the brand’s timepieces from the 50s and 60s, this specific collection has slight lugs, a sizable crown and classic Snowflake hands…a staple of vintage Tudor design that sees reference 7922 as a must have collector’s item.

While other collections like The Pelagos are exceptional such as the recent 39mm edition in its titanium frame and the new Pelagos FXD Chronograph, The Black Bay collection is always dear to collectors' hearts due to its timelessness and incredible heritage.

As expected, the brand is associated with the biggest and the best. Ex Manchester United footballer and all round fashion god David Beckham proudly represents the brand as an ambassador since 2017. And who are we to argue with Becks and his fabulous flex.

Spotted wearing a Black Bay 58 ref. M79018v-0001 while kicking back in the stands at Wimbledon 2023, the watches are made from yellow gold and features a beautiful matt green dial and bezel. The white indices and hands are edged with yellow gold, keeping the entire piece seamless and as flawless as his style choices.

Its precious metal build, COSC certification and unique green features on the dial and bezel allow this piece to be a possible investment piece. We recommend a beige suit like the man himself or going old school with a black suit.

Brand: Omega

Model:

Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m GoodPlanet GMT

Price:

You can no longer buy an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m GoodPlanet GMT at retail but can buy it on the secondary market for around £3,500 at the time of writing.

Omega is a top luxury brand for the eager collector who understands his horological beans. Take for example the iconic Seamaster Ploprof 1200M which has undergone a summer makeover for 2023.

Best Place To Buy A Luxury Watch  Best Place To Sell A Luxury Watch

With a phenomenal history, including being the first luxury brand on the moon with the Speedmaster, Omega have continued to bolster their reputation as one of the best luxury watch brands out there.

Can we really be shocked about them becoming the largest manufacturer of finished watches in Switzerland since 1903? Furthermore, they are ranked within the top 5 luxury Swiss brands by overall revenue.

Omega has a reputation as long as the list of Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m models…which currently stands at nearly 150 iterations. They are the creators of the first minute repeater in 1892, the first movement resistant to 15,000 gauss (no wonder why the Milgauss was discontinued!) and their very own Master Chronometer Certification with COSC certification. Oh yes they have METAS approval as well.

The Seamaster collection is the longest running line from Omega which stems all the way back to 1948. Originally designed for the Royal Navy, the collection has been optimised for the modern user with its classy ceramic bezel and highly distinguishable laser engraved dial face, pertaining to the waves.

Wimbledon saw Omega out in full force. None more so than an extremely personal gift from Princess Diana, late mother of Prince William in the form of the Omega Seamaster 300m. The brand was adorned by scientist Brian Cox who wore the legendary Speedmaster that has deep horological ties, established in 1957. Nothing says science like watches heading to the moon!

Spiderman also made a guest appearance at the All England Club (Not the Royal Oak Offshore “Spider-Man” version!) as Andrew Garfield wore an Omega De Ville Tresor.

As usual, the star of the show was Daniel Craig. Dressed up to the nines like he was ready to save Wimbledon from an impending timebomb or the next pop in the crowd after a scintillating rally, he wore a stunning grey suit paired with his Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean GoodPlanet.

Created as a tribute for the GoodPlanet Foundation, a certain amount of the sales will go to the foundation. Featuring a bright orange GMT hand and orange indices on the bezel, the contrast with the blue is clear and distinct…if not a tad frivolous to match his attire.

As part of the popular Seamaster collection, featuring the very interesting colour combination of orange and blue, we believe that these watches may just be a solid piece for investment. Feeling good about saving the world? Why not get decked out in a black suit to be a devilishly handsome villain to Bond’s hero antics.

Brand: Jaeger-LeCoultre

Released in the 1930’s, the collection was made as a solution to polo players wanting to play the beautiful game without risking their precious crystals on the watch face. The dial could therefore be flipped over, allowing for the caseback to be visible when participating in sporting events..maybe even a spot of tennis!

To ensure pristine quality, the watches undergo their famed “1000 Hour Control” rigorous testing procedure, surpassing the standard quality controls of other manufacturers. This clarifies that the timepiece has longevity and is capable of dealing with everyday knocks.

Jaeger-LeCoultre created the Calibre 145 which became the world’s thinnest movement in 1907. Some other watches like the Memovox feature an alarm mechanism which alerts the user to various timekeeping events. The Memovox is so revered that Benedict Cumberbatch wore the JLC Polaris Mariner Memovox during Wimbledon 2023.

Speaking of Wimbledon 2023, singer Nick Jonas got into the spirit of things with his Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso, fitted with a luxury brown leather strap. Fitting with a cream Ralph Lauren suit that’s so Wimbledon worthy, while we have our own personal reservations against the tightness of his suit jacket, the watches are a coherent piece with his and most other outfits.

Crafted out of steel and featuring classic Arabic Numerals, there is a small seconds counter at 6 o’clock and stylish gadroons, resulting in the watchs rectangular shape. We think the timepiece is a real beauty to behold.

As part of the great Reverso collection and styled up with a brushed aesthetic, this represents the top watches for an investment minded gentleman. If you want to look as sharp as a razor, keep things easy with a linen jacket and spectator shoes for the more discerning gentleman.

Brand: Richard Mille

Model:

RM 72-01 Automatic Winding Lifestyle Flyback Chronograph Titanium.

Price:

You can no longer buy a Richard Mille RM 72-01 at retail due to it being sold out at the time of writing. You can buy the watch on the secondary market for around £350,000 as of July 2023.

Richard Mille was founded not long ago in 2001.

They have consistently rallied against the limits of horology. From receiving the Aiguille d’Or at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie for the RM 012 Tourbillon and creating the world’s lightest mechanical watches, The RM 027 for Rafa Nadal, Richard Mille has influenced the timekeeping world like no other during their short run in the timekeeping spectrum.

And this is in spite of their youthful inception back in 1999 with the support of none other than Audemars Piguet.

Their pieces tend to be a little out there but still lead to overwhelming demand compared to supply. Did you know Richard Mille only manufactures around 5,000 watches annually? This means these novelties are set aside for many high-end glitterati and famous wearers such as Cristano Ronaldo and Kevin Hart.

There’s a lot to be impressed by. The RM66 Flying Tourbillon Rock’n’Roll features a devil horned hand in the centre of the dial, The Le Mans RM 72-01 follows the exact colour scheme of the prestigious event while the RM Ferrari UP-01 features the thinnest movement ever made. A mere 1.75mm thick.

So, as the numbers keep on rising and the prices fly out of any man’s budget, it only makes sense that such timepieces would appear in the world of Wimbledon. Who better to wear Richard Mille than a man of great speed…no, not Tom Cruise but none other than Charles Leclerc.

As Ferrari is sponsored by Richard Mille in the F1 world, Charles Leclerc similarly falls under such a contract. As such, it makes sense that he would adorn the brand on his wrist.

Crafted out of grade 5 titanium, the RM 72-01 is the ultimate casual piece featuring a white rubber strap and just three numerals present on the dial at 3, 8 and 11 o’clock. This is in contrast to the usual 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock presentation.

With such an unorthodox dial face and its associations with limited availability due to it being a Richard Mille allows these watches to potentially be a hot investment piece. We recommend wearing a cream suit to work with the white rubber strap, or taking things a step down with a simple white tee for those carefree days.

Best Luxury Watches Spotted At Wimbledon 2024

Who knew this prestigious tournament was all about flaunting your fashion? We certainly did and Wimbledon 2024 did not disappoint. With defending champ Carlos Alcaraz stepping up this year to continue his winning streak, he defeated the very unfortunate Novak Djokovic in straight sets 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 to become a two time champ.

Outside of the green lawns, cramped commentary boxes and sweaty men, spectators were looking on and secretly posing for the camera’s. Oscar worthy icons like Rami Malek and Pierce Brosnan sat side-by-side with musicians like Stormzy, royalty like Prince Albert of Monaco and Rolex CEO, Jean-Frédéric Dufour.

Yes, we even spotted Monsieur Dufour having a sneaky Pimms and Lemonade.

After all, when your brand is the main sponsor and timepiece adorned by Wimbledon winners throughout time, you earn the right to sit in and watch your ambassadors in action! Without further ado, allow us to reveal all the best watches spotted at Wimbledon 2024.

The Cartier Tank was originally introduced in 1918 after Louis Cartier arrived back from the Western Front. He felt inspired to create a timepiece designed on the birds eye view of military tanks. Out of sorrow does come a little joy. Hard times indeed, but the rectangular case mimicking brancards and the machine's treads have since become emblematic of the line.

However, in 1996 the watches evolved into a new collection known as the Cartier Tank Française. Designed in a larger case, this variation offers users a wide range of styles, materials and complications to suit the active man, the gent looking for something discerning, or an all out luxury machine created to catch eyes and break horophiles hearts.

As the watch worn by Princess Diana and Grammy award winner Mick Jagger, the Française is therefore not something to take lightly. While not on the court, Rami Malek delighted in serving up a delightful ensemble, including his steel Cartier Tank Française.

Turns out at this year’s Wimbledon, he opted for a large model in steel and with a black leather strap. While steel does not have the luxury connotations of precious metals, Cartier does a sublime job of offering a vertical brushed finish along the case, while simultaneously providing a polished finish along the case and bracelet sides.

The dial is a stalwart and remains a fabulous indicator of the classic Cartier style. On the side of the case lies a synthetic cabochon-shaped spinel in a dark blue. Given a silvered dial with blued hands, these work well alongside the black Roman numerals and central minute track. Also, Cartier granted us a small date aperture based at 3 o’clock for that added complication.

Rami has his pairing game on point. Dressed in a black suit, blue tie and designer black tint shades, the steel Française stands out well and effortlessly slides out from his white suit shirt. Who knew that money looked so good?

You can buy a Cartier Tank Française at retail for £5,500 as of August 2024.

The Rolex Daytona Le Mans is the fusion of one of the world's most recognizable racing watches, with possibly the most famous racing event in history.

But, how did Rolex and Le Mans become well acquainted? Rolex has always had a soft spot for racing, running back as far as the 1930’s wherein Rolex took to legendary racer Sir Malcom Campbell, fitting him with a Rolex Oyster for his record breaking activities like breaking the 300 mph speed barrier in the Bluebird.

Eventually, Rolex progressed their portfolio to include stars like Sir Jackie Stewart, nine-time Le Mans winner, Tom Kristensen and 2009 F1 Driver World Champion, Jenson Button. For Le Mans, Rolex has served as the Official Timepiece of the event since 2001, resulting in the Genevan giant producing a Le Mans inspired Daytona in 2023 for the event's 100 year anniversary.

Synonymous with energetic spirit, the Rolex Daytona was manufactured in 1963 and became one of the flagship lines for the brand. Originally unsuccessful, it took a brand new calibre, Cerachrom bezel and worn on the wrist of Paul Newman for the line to eventually reach its current desirability level.

The Rolex Daytona Le Mans 126529LN variant comes in white gold and has unfortunately since been discontinued after a very short run. Totalling 40mm x 12.2mm the pieces fit the classic Daytona silhouette, including prominent lugs and sporty pushers either side of the crown.

For the dial, users are pleased to note the Paul Newman inspired exotic dial in a classic reverse panda chronograph style. Yielding a black Cerachrom tachymetric scale on the bezel, you may have noticed that the “100” is in red as opposed to the white scale as an ode to the 100th anniversary of the Le Mans race.

For playing speeds of Djokovic and Alcaraz, we are glad for the triple chronograph threat in the form of three sub-dials and the rapid calibre 4132 that is Superlative Chronometer certified and offers a strong 28,800VpH.

The CEO of Rolex, Jean-Frédéric Dufour obviously knows his horological beans, and promptly chose the very sporty Daytona for Wimbledon 2024. While it is an out and out racing watch, it is also the line that winner Carlos Alcaraz rocked twelve months previously. Been exchanging outfit ideas with your ambassadors, Dufour?

Wearing a blue suit jacket and white suit shirt, the Rolex Daytona Le Mans is a perfect addition to any gentlemen’s luxury apparel.

You can no longer buy a Rolex Daytona Le Mans White Gold at retail as it’s been discontinued. You can buy it on the secondary market for upwards of £187,000 as of August 2024.

Due to the sheer luxury of the Rolex Day-Date, it has swiftly become one of Rolexes most desirable dress watches, due to its stunning fluted bezel and variety of gorgeous dial designs and materials.

As the go-to novelty for many U.S Presidents like Nixon, Reagan and Trump, action man Tom Cruise takes to the very same line that has led the free world. Whether jumping off skyscrapers or saving someone from almost certain death, Cruise has earned his stripes as an acclaimed actor…Oh and by the way, he knows how to flex a little style as seen at Wimbledon 2024!

This time, the Mission Impossible maestro opts for the highly unique Rolex Day-Date Platinum Meteorite, finished with a stunning diamond dial.

Platinum is almost unheard of in horological circles, and Rolex go one step further by employing the use of the highest grade possible, 950 platinum. Crafted in-house, it provides a stunning lustre, especially since it’s thoroughly polished along the lug tops and case sides.

For the bezel, the watches utilise a ring of diamonds. Not enough? The jewelled up theme continues onto the dial wherein users can spot 10 baguette cut diamonds in replacement of the hour markers. Considering this is displayed against a rare, meteorite dial that’s inherently given unique Widmanstätten patterns, Tom Cruise has opted for a fabulous model!

Fitted with the calibre 3255, you will find a -2/+2 seconds per day accuracy and 70 hour power reserve. Superlative Chronometer certified, the watches are high-powered, accurate and offer excellent longevity.

Tom Cruise pushed away from conventional black suits this year, instead choosing a low-key purple suit with matching tie and suit shirt.

You can buy a Rolex Day-Date Platinum Meteorite Dial at retail for £104,050 as of August 2024

As a part of the desirable Nautilus line, the first edition of the collection was released in 1976. Representing one of the very first sports-chic timepieces released under Gerald Genta’s reign, the Nautilus was actually the product of a sketch he did while sitting in a restaurant…on a napkin. And what a timepiece he has dished up to wearers which has stood the test of time for more than five decades.

Instantly recognizable, the Nautilus is given a porthole shaped case and “ears'', inspired by the porthole hinges. It’s both a classic and statement piece that transcends generations, boardrooms and beyond the 9-5.

It has excelled in its simplicity and ability to be a completely minimalist sports watch with an outstanding dial design and movement precision. However, the Nautilus 5990/1A-01 seeks to do things a little differently.

Becoming one of Patek Philippe’s very rare steel timepieces is no easy feat, but this 40.5mm x 12.53mm steel beauty makes it look easy, alongside featuring a number of excellent complications.

Boasting a blue dial with sunburst finish against a horizontal embossment, the shade graduates to black on the periphery, allowing the hour markers and hands to clearly be displayed. Remember, this works in conjunction with the highly convenient functions, the Travel Time, analog date and flyback chronograph

Powered by the CH 28-510 C FUS, the 4Hz and weekend-proof 55 hour power reserve is not for the faint-hearted. Luckily, it’s the 6ft 5 Grime icon, Stormzy, that pulled off this particular piece on and off the court at Wimbledon 2024.

He defies the traditional suit and tie affair with a simple black tee and bucket hat. A dedicated follower of horological fashion, the Voss Bop singer owns a Patek Philippe Nautilus Perpetual Calendar Ref. 5740/1G, which retails for around £150,000 or on the secondary market for £160,000 at the time of writing.

If you want to buy a Patek Philippe Nautilus 5990/1A-01, you can pick one up at retail for £59,040 as of August 2024.

The ex-James Bond icon, Pierce Brosnan is about as timeless as his ensembles. So when he came to Wimbledon 2024 with a navy blue suit, red tint sunglasses and a Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 on his wrist… We were not really that surprised.

However, don’t let that detract from the ultimate beauty and fashionista prowess that Brosnan has just flexed!

Girard-Perregaux currently has a Vintage 1945 collection in circulation, covering models with moon-phase indicators and openworked dials to Roman numerals and large date apertures. Pierce Brosnan brings the “vintage” title a whole new meaning.

He opts for a discontinued model which he actually wore in the film, Love Is All You Need. Totalling a yellow gold case, the watch is inspired by the Art-Deco models released by Girard-Perregaux in, yes you guessed it, 1945.

Given a snow-white dial, the yellow gold Arabic numerals are given different sizes for that avant-garde effect, alongside the yellow gold hands, and unusual complication placements like the tilted date aperture between 1 and 2 o’clock, power reserve indicator at 4 o’clock and small seconds counter at 9 o’clock.

Totalling 32mm x 11.4mm, they do have a delicate look and feel, which can easily be pulled off with a suit. We recommend you follow Pierce Brosnan’s styling of a classic, double breasted navy suit with striped suit shirt and charming grin on top!

You can no longer buy a Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 at retail as it’s been discontinued. You can buy it on the secondary market for upwards of £6,000 as of August 2024.

In the case of Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs QB, his paycheck affords him the finer things in life, including diamond infused timepieces and a very sharp grey suit jacket. But first, it’s time for a little debrief about the beautiful Rolex Daytona Rainbow

Launched at BaselWorld 2012, the watches were originally released in white and yellow gold. While they did receive initial criticism due to their ostentacion, they were eventually adopted by celebrities like Mark Wahlberg and John Mayer, prompting a surge in popularity and desirability.

The Everose gold, the one that Mahomes pulls off so well at Wimbledon 2024, was released six years later in 2018. Totalling 40mm, the watches are fitted with a bezel that totals 36 baguette-cut sapphires in a rainbow colour scheme from red at 12 o’clock to green, located at 6 o’clock.

However, the jewels don’t stop there. Featuring diamonds along the lugs and on the crown guards, there are more rainbow infused sapphire making up the hour markers across the dial. With triple chronograph counters at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock in rose gold, the watches are powered by the Superlative Chronometer certified 4130 calibre with a 72 hour power reserve and 28,800VpH (4Hz)

This exceptionally rare piece is incredibly hard to get your hands on due to the high-level of craftsmanship and fantastic usage of precious metals. Score every time like Patrick Mahomes as he makes this beauty shine with a blue suit jacket and white T-shirt.

You can no longer buy a Rolex Daytona Rainbow at retail as it’s been discontinued. You can buy it on the secondary market for upwards of £330,000.

And the significance of this? The Breitling Navitimer was actually a gift from his father who sadly passed away shortly after. This emotionally charged timepiece is a fantastic statement of fatherly love and incredible watchmaking. After all, the Breitling Navitimer is a top collection for every type of horophile!

Released in 1954, The Breitling Navitimer was created by request of the AOPA, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. As a result, the watches became the leading pilots piece due to its integrated logarithmic slide rule on the bezel that allows users to measure average speed, distance travelled and fuel consumption.

Over the years, the line has evolved to feature a range of materials, dial styles and complications. No longer is this solely a pilot's watch. You can wear this bad boy with a suit and tie like Richard E Grant!

His Navitimer B01 Chronograph reference AB0127211C1X2 is a very large 46mm of steel. Crafted into the classic circular case, the slide rule bezel sits pretty on a white periphery. Given a blue dial with silver toned hands and markers, the 14.51mm thickness is jam-packed with functionality, including a triple chronograph display.

Powered by the automatic Calibre 24, it has a 70 hour power reserve which easily lasts for those key points and rally's. Richard E Grant decided to pull this beauty off with a white suit, red spotted tie and pitch black shades. How refined!

You can no longer buy a Breitling Navitimer B01 Chronograph AB0127211C1X2 at retail as it’s been discontinued. You can buy a Breitling Navitimer B01 Chronograph AB0127211C1X2 on the secondary market for upwards of £4,400 as of August 2024.

Yes, we did say Wimbledon dial! And the Swiss legend knows how to look sharp in the Royal Box. After all, Rolex have been the Official Timekeeper of Wimbledon since 1978 and have a number of tennis ambassadors including two time and 2024 champion, Carlos Alcaraz.

Introduced in 2009, the Wimbledon dial was affixed onto the Rolex Datejust line. Interestingly, Rolex have not officially called this the “Wimbledon” dial, but just like every other nickname (Pepsi, Root Beer, Smurf et al), the community is at the forefront of making these titles stick in community circles!

All the emblematic features of the Datejust line remain though, including the fluted bezel, date aperture at 3 o’clock and waterproof system with Twinlock winding crown and circular Oyster case. However, the inclusion of the Wimbledon dial adds an extra layer of desirability to the pieces.

Made up of distinct dark green Roman numerals against a rhodium dial, the nickname is earned by the green shades linking to the immaculate lawns of Wimbledon.

For Federer, he goes for the steel and yellow gold reference 126333, boasting high-end luxury from one of their most popular models. Known as Rolesor, this two-tone combination is a fabulous display of Rolex’s craftsmanship and in-house skill. He pairs this with a grey suit and black shades for that mysterious, “I’m a man of the court” look! Or, perhaps he might be starring in a revamped Milk Tray man?

You can buy a Rolex Datejust Wimbledon at retail for £12,500 as of August 2024.

Well, how about a luxurious variant of the tantalising Rolex Daytona line? Following the classic design codes of the Daytona line, this equates to a 40mm x 11mm case sizing in yellow gold

Introduced in 2021, the Rolex Daytona meteorite models are inherently very attractive due to its racing past. However, the combination with an Oyster flex strap means the watches have a much more sporty appearance and can tug on the toughest of horophiles' heart strings.

Featuring sublime polishing along the lugs, this leads into a black cerachrom bezel with gold PVD tachymetric scale. For the grand finale of the watches, users are treated to a beautiful meteorite dial. Sourced from an actual meteorite, the material is given an individual Widmanstätten pattern that makes every watch an individual.

Boasting black triple chronograph subdials at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock, these tie in well with the yellow gold baton hour markers and hands. Within the Rolexes beats the ever so reliable 4130 movement that produces a 72 hour power reserve and 28,800VpH.

For Carlos Alcaraz, he quickly strapped on his Rolex after beating Djokovic in straight sets at Wimbledon 2024. Although his outfit consists of a plain white jersey, he makes this look effortless..

You can no longer buy a Rolex Daytona Yellow Gold Meteorite Dial at retail as it’s been discontinued. You can buy it on the secondary market for upwards of £62,600.

This vintage Vacheron Constantin Jump Hour Retrograde originally debuted in 1998 with a limited edition release of 200 pieces. This saw their first step into combining a jump hour display alongside a retrograde minutes hand.

Given a stunning silver guilloche sunburst dial, the watches are influenced by the elevator floor indicators of the early 20th Century. And if you want to level up, this is the perfect piece. Built into a two-part cushion shaped yellow gold case, discover the signature Maltese cross engraved against the push pull crown.

Opposing classic hour markers, the watches are made up of an 18K gold aperture that indicates the jumping hour at 12 o’clock. Similarly, there is a yellow gold retrograde hand that’s fitted with Arabic numerals on a curved retrograde scale from 9 to 3 o’clock.

Users are treated to a sapphire caseback, revealing the embellished VC Saltarello movement, including a skeletonised rotor and VC hallmarks. Don’t forget the lauded Seal of Geneva stamp that confirms its outstanding technical quality.

It seems that Mr Ackerley combines the luxurious Vacheron Constantin brand and innovative timekeeping method into a vintage model to produce one of the best watches we gazed at Wimbledon 2024.

You can no longer buy a Vacheron Constantin Jump Hour Retrograde Saltarello at retail as it’s been discontinued. However, you can buy it on the secondary market for around £15,000.

The Omega Seamaster De Ville that the Tattooist of Auschwitz actor opts for is an 18K yellow gold variant from circa 1960s. Released during the start of the De Ville line, it was brought out of the Seamaster family to offer a perfect everyday fusion of the durable Seamaster and the effortlessly stylish Constellation line.

In 1967, the De Ville then became its own independent collection, forging its own path away from the Seamaster. However, the Cambridge actor opted for an edition that was still part of the Seamaster line. Coming in a 3 part 18K yellow gold case and measuring 34mm they are extremely luxurious and offer users a top dress watch

Even down to the dial, the patina cream shade allows the yellow gold batons and hands to clearly be seen, alongside the Omega logo at 12 o’clock. Of course you want to know that you have one of the best Swiss brands on your wrist!

Affixed onto a stylish brown leather strap, the contrast of yellow gold against the brown strap is well presented, allowing the precious metal to be clearly defined. And what was the man of the moment wearing? He let his nautical inspired Seamaster make some waves alongside a very elegant navy blue, double breasted suit and black tie.

You can no longer buy an Omega Seamaster De Ville Yellow Gold at retail as it’s been discontinued. However, you can buy it on the secondary market for around £3,000 as of August 2024.

While Rolex is a constant and the flagship brand of Wimbledon, Novak Djokovic has his loyalty lying elsewhere.

Following his loss in the 2024 final, The Serb still retained his horological pride by adorning a stylish timepiece. As an ambassador for Hublot, Novak is the proud wearer of the incredibly unorthodox Hublot Big Bang Integrated Green Ceramic.

Best Place To Buy A Luxury Watch  Best Place To Sell A Luxury Watch

The Hublot Big Bang Integrated Green Ceramic is a well constructed timepiece that is designed to push horological boundaries, walls and anything else for that matter.

As a part of the legendary Big Bang series, originally released in 2005, this line has been critical in producing new ideas from Hublot like the Neon Yellow variant and the UNICO Nespresso Origin 42mm that's made from recycled coffee beans. But I am afraid this is not your average cup of Joe.

For the Big Bang Integrated Green Ceramic, this totals 42mm and is made out of ceramic. This material is exceptionally tough and scratch resistant, especially since Hublot makes it in-house and creates it using a very strong base of zirconium.

Furthermore, this is a green variant of ceramic which is very rare, and thoroughly polished to produce a clean finish. This material is spotted throughout, including the case, the popular circular bezel with visible screws and lugs.

Connected to a black and green lined rubber strap, the entire piece is cohesive and capable of being worn with a white sports fleece like Novak himself, or a black suit for those more special occasions

Capable of 100 metres of water resistance, it is fitted with a high-powered UNICO movement. Made up of 354 components, this uses an open-heart design that fuses a column wheel and double coupling system that allows for a 72 hour power reserve.

Given a skeletonised dial, the watches have green rimmed Arabic numerals and hands alongside a small seconds counter and date aperture at 3 o’clock.

Limited to only 250 pieces, you can buy a Hublot Big Bang UNICO Dark Green Ceramic at retail for £20,700 as of August 2024.

We know that there is a lot of celebrity royalty that gathered in the stands like well trained sardines at Wimbledon 2024. But what about the real blue-bloods that walk the sacred green lawns?

Prince Albert may appear like another austere gentleman of the realm, but he is actually more switched on to modern horology than we may have originally thought.

Source - Histories Royales

Best Place To Buy A Luxury Watch  Best Place To Sell A Luxury Watch

He opts for the spectacular TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Skeleton, released literally just a few months ago at Watches and Wonders 2024. Talk about striking while the horological iron is hot!

Measuring 39mm x 13.8mm, the titanium timepieces are given a sandblasted black DLC coating, adding an extra level of durability and scratch resistance to the already very durable titanium material. Expect lightness, strength and optimal timekeeping with a soupcon of finesse.

Against the classic squared case that has made up the Monaco line, the watches are instantly recognizable and timeless and have been part of their stable since 1969. Water resistant to 100 metres, they have splash proof capabilities and can be worn in the shower or some light snorkelling, if you find yourself off the coast of Barbados.

The skeletonised dial exposes the high-powered TH20-00 calibre. Made up of two squared chronograph counters at 3 and 9 o’clock, they are given yellow hands alongside the main seconds hand. Time is read via the baton hour metals and pointed hands, allowing for easy reading of the time.

This futuristic timepiece may appear like something out of the Iron-Man movies, but it’s a stunning addition to every ensemble, including formal outfits like Prince Albert’s black suit, or a black leather jacket and jeans for that rugged, masculine look.

You can buy a TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Skeleton Dark Blue at retail for £9,850 as of August 2024.

Conclusion

Time for new balls please.

We are all hot under the collar after exposing these horological beauties in their natural celebrity habitats. With so much flex going on at Wimbledon 2023 to rival an Arnold Schwarzenegger workout, it’s game set and match for last year’s event.

Now two time winner, Carlos Alcaraz sets the benchmark for horological style on the field. That Rolex Daytona with the meteorite dial is simply otherworldly! While Djokovic would get his revenge at The Paris Olympics 2024 by beating the Spaniard 7-6, 7-6, he opted for a Hublot Big Bang Integrated Green Ceramic.

We’re just glad he managed to topple him the final time before Andy Murray called it a day…We wouldn’t want him to be demanding spectators leave Centre Court like he did during the Wimbledon 2024 final!

For those ladies and gentlemen with their binoculars, we were treated this year to a feast of top Swiss watch brands, ranging from Breitling and Cartier to Girard-Perregaux and Patrick Mahomes, flexing his throwing arm with a Rolex Daytona Rainbow 11659RBOW. Is there nothing these celebs can’t pull off?

We hope you’ve gleaned sufficient information on the funky universe of Wimbledon timepieces. Like strawberries and cream, wealth and style seemingly go hand in hand which is undoubtedly to our advantage.
