As the curtain comes down on the 97th Oscars, Chrono Hunter checks out what horological beauties made the headlines on and off the red carpet in 2025. With last year’s highlights including Omega, JLC and Rolex among the hard hitters, what does this year have in store for dedicated keepers of time?
Best Watches Spotted At The 2025 Oscars
There’s only one word which dominates this year’s 97th Oscars…Anora.
Capturing five awards in total including Best Picture, Best Actress (Mikey Madison) and Best Director (Sean Baker) among other awards, there’s not even a moment to mention Omega fanboy Kieran Culkin, dropping the F-bomb more times than Grand Seiko churn out nature themed timepieces.
Yet, we didn’t see a play from new 2025 Rolex brand ambassador, Leonardo Di Caprio who may be saving his flexing muscles for his new movie with Martin Scorcese. Entitled Devil In The White City, released this Summer, watch out for a sinful drop come August.
For now, we just have his exit after an Oscars pre-party to go on.
Hosted by Conan O’ Brien, there was only one joke throughout the event attributed to 47th US President, Donald J. Trump. Maybe O’Brien might be more fortunate than the grilling Ukraine’s President Zelensky took in the Oval Office.
But you know we are here to bring you the hottest horological highlights as we uncover the best watches spotted at the 2025 Oscars, laid out in this easy to read table.
As Queen declared in 1991, “The Show Must Go On.”

Honorary Mentions
If you want the hottest horological gossip that no one has covered, you have come to the right place.
My insider timekeeping mole has spotted a few other watches from the 97th Oscars worthy of mention. Exclusively worn at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar party, props goes to
- Robert Downey JR. who sported a Seamaster Diver 300M in Bronze Gold with burgundy bezel. (210.90.42.20.01.003)
- Noah Schnapp who adorned a 38mm Speedmaster in 18K Sedna™ Gold, complete with brown leather strap. (324.58.38.50.63.001)
Now who didn’t stay we were ahead of the game…
Luxury Watch Spotting At The 2024 Oscars
The Oscars 2024 was yet again another event that showed the best of the acting world, and their respective high quality timepieces.
There were a range of notable stars and bizarre events that occurred throughout the evening. Ryan Gosling won the audience over with a stonking rendition of “I’m Just Ken” from the highly successful Barbie movie. Dressed entirely in pink and flashing (John Cena aside) a coy grin behind black sunglasses, he really is a heartthrob! Oh and a wrist worthy TAG Heuer ambassador
Sure, there were some other offbeat moments when 16 time WWE champion John Cena entered to present the award for best costume… butt naked. With theories of it being a satanic ritual test from freemasons or just a little light hearted irony, celebs and TV-watchers were both taken aback.
Outside of the weird and wonderful, credit must be given to Robert Downey Jr. who took home his first Oscar as Best Supporting Actor, while Oppenheimer stole the glitzy bacon for Best Actor, Best Director and Best Film among other categories. The 96th Academy Awards was perhaps the biggest sweep for any film since Titanic received 11 awards in 1998.
But our naked obsession is of course with our wrist worthy companions. Here’s what luxury watches we spotted at the 2024 Oscars.
Ryan Gosling - TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma Diamant d’Avant-Garde
Ryan Gosling and legendary rock n roll impresario Guns n Roses guitarist Slash stepped up to perform a rendition of “I’m Just Ken”. Accompanied with impeccable choreography, it was more talked about than the new 2024 white dial Omega Speedmaster.
We’re looking at you Daniel Craig!

While he missed out on Best Supporting Actor to Robert Downey Jr in Oppenheimer, we are sure he was more than pleased with his smash hit song and dance routine. Horophiles however were much more interested in a little something protruding from his wrist.
Beside his blacked out custom Gucci ensemble, may we introduce you to his majestic TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma Diamant d’Avant-Garde. Brimming with Kenergy, this particular edition was ideal for showing off on the red carpet with a pink diamond crown!
Celebrating 60 years of the Carrera, this piece was originally released at Watches and Wonders 2023 and broke a few horological barriers, including the elegant diamond aesthetics, sublime pink crown and TAG logo below 12 o’clock.
Crafted in a white gold 36mm case, there is a single 1.3-carat lab-grown pink diamond that takes up the crown. The dial totals 2.9-carats with 12 white gold hour markers that are individually set with lab-grown diamonds.
Totalling around 4.8-carats and secured onto a black alligator leather strap with a white gold pin buckle, expect a 50 hour power reserve and 28,800VpH through the Calibre 7 Automatic movement. Be it on the private boat or sipping drinks with Sir Richard Branson on Necker Island, this oozes sophistication.
You can buy a TAG Heuer for an estimated £80,000 at retail as of March 2024.
Ke Huy Quan - Cartier Santos-Dumont Skeleton Micro-Rotor
A lot of speculation was thrown up following Robert Downey Jr’s alleged snub of Ke Huy Quan. With Ke Huy Quan going in for the handshake and Downey Jr giving a lacklustre response, questions were raised about his intentions…
But we ain't here for this tittle-tattle. Let’s go on with the show.
Source - Social News via Getty
While he wasn’t up for anything this year, Quan won Best Supporting Actor last year for his role in "Everything Everywhere All At Once”. He knows all about how an Oscar feels! Did you know that he was in the Indiana Jones film, Temple Of Doom alongside fellow legend Harrison Ford.
Fate would have it that Mr Ford is more of a Breitling fan which you keen horophiles may have noted him pull off at the Golden Globes.
It appears the actor has levelled up his wrist wear for the 2024 Oscars from last year’s Omega Globemaster to the uber glam, see through Cartier Santos-Dumont Skeleton Micro-Rotor.
A wise decision. Inspired by the 1904 Santos-Dumont that Louis Cartier made for his friend and pilot, Santos-Dumont, it became the first pilot's watch to be worn on the wrist.
With such an incredible lineage, Cartier decided to go one step further with a highly modernised play on the classic. The Micro-Rotor edition is constructed into a 43.5mm case with a thickness of just 8mm.
Made from yellow gold, they feature blue lacquered surfaces as a contrast as regal as the King’s Coronation ensemble.
The dial is entirely skeletonised which allows a clear view into the stunning 9629 MC movement. Requiring 2 years to design and develop, this is a breakthrough in modern horology.
One key selling point is the circular aperture residing at 7 o’clock. It offers a yellow gold replica of the Santos-Dumont aircraft which is counterbalanced by an openworked balance at 1 o’clock.
The blue hands are clearly distinguishable which allows the 46 hour power reserve and 28,800 VpH timepiece to be functional. If the Oscars did an award for the category of best special occasion watches, this would definitely take home the gold.
You can buy a Cartier Santos-Dumont Skeleton Micro Rotor at retail for around £32,000 as of March 2024.
Matthew McConaughey - Jacob & Co Jean Bugatti
Alright, alright alright.
Not many actors have reached the same critical acclaim as Matthew McConaughey. Turning up to the Oscars with partner Camila Alves, the man of many motion pictures presented at the Oscars 2024 with typical classic southern charm.
Source - Mens Style via Getty
Of course, he’s not exempt from earning a few awards of his own. Winning the Oscar for Best Actor in 2014 for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, he knows how to dress for any part. But what was he flexing? Arriving in red-tinted shades and black bow-tie, he sported a phenomenal Jacob & Co. Jean Bugatti.
A tempting choice for racing lovers and those with a love of fast cars like Lambos and Porsches, this slinky number deserves its time in the limelight. After Bugatti collaborated with Jacob & Co in 2019 to create hypercar inspired watches, the Jean Bugatti is crafted out of pink gold.
Fitted with a sumptuous cream white dial with 18K rose gold applied hour markers, it may only reach a measly 30 metre water resistance, but this is a piece you wouldn’t even bring near a tap!
Inspired by the 1930s Bugatti roadster grille, perhaps the most interesting part is the Calibre JCFM09. Fitted with dual one-minute flying tourbillon, the carriages are inspired by the Bugatti logo while general timekeeping is read by the two small hands facing inwards.
The chronograph function is read on two split hands, both of which are retrograde and enjoy a jumping 30–minute counter. Cleverly, the chronograph function moves like the RPM counter of the famed sports car, meaning when the first hand reaches 10, it jumps straight back to 0 while the other hand jumps from 0 to 1.
Debuted in 2022, the watch boasts a range of handy features, including a tourbillon, 5Hz double retrograde chronograph and standard timekeeping. You can expect a 48 hour power reserve and steady beat of 28,800VpH. Oscar worthy material? You bet your bottom dollar.
You can buy a Jacob & Co at retail for around £240,000 as of March 2024.
Sterling K.Brown - IWC Portugieser Regulateur Tourbillon
Sterling by name and sterling by nature.
This debonair actor waltzed onto the Oscars red carpet, decked out with a classic black suit and bow tie. However, Mr. Brown didn’t rock up to spoil the party…but rather captivate his audience for all together different reasons.
Source - Digital Spy via Getty
Last year he earned an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree after giving a fabulous commencement speech for a graduating class at Washington University in St. Louis. In acting, he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2024 Oscars for American Fiction. Unfortunately, he missed out to Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr.
All is not lost, as the three Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe recipient still dazzled us with a beautiful IWC Portugieser Regulateur Tourbillon. Sized at 43mm x 15mm thick, this white gold timepiece offers a highly visible circular dial fit for the red carpet, and a precious metal glow that money can’t buy.
We love the slate grey dial that allows the complex dial to show every facet and feature in its full glory. We aren’t underestimating the value of these complications…it is jam-packed with them. Covering a skeletonised tourbillon at 9 o’clock which fights against gravity and offers excellent accuracy, this IWC Portugieser is under the Regulateur umbrella. What does this mean exactly?
In essence, the minutes, hours and seconds hand are placed onto separate subdials, allowing you to tell the precise time without the hands blocking each other. Move over Zeitwerk for a tick…this might be the real deal.
Therefore, there is a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock, the hour hand at the subdial at 12 o’clock and the minute hand which is the large, silver hand in the centre of the dial. This complexity requires an excellent movement which is found in the manual wind calibre 98845 and yields a 46 hour power reserve.
With a limited edition run of 100 watches, you can no longer buy an IWC Portugieser Regulateur Tourbillon at retail as it has been discontinued. You can buy it on the secondary market for upwards of £28,000 as of March 2024.
Robert Downey Jr - Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph
If we can get past the initial controversy of Robert Donwey Jr snubbing Ke Huy Quan or Jimmy Kimmel’s timely quip about his previous drug abuse, can we admire his outfit that he wore at the Oscars 2024?
Dressed in black, he kept things looking oh so sharp and refined as the Dolittle actor gracefully accepted his award for Best Supporting Actor in Oppenheimer.
Source - E! News via Stewart Cook
This isn’t his first rodeo either. Winning a Golden Globe and BAFTA for the same award, he’s milking this Oppenheimer role for everything it’s got! Alas, this mensch would not be complete if not for the gorgeous Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph.
Following on from the classic Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso model from 1931, it was launched as a solution to British soldiers stationed in India breaking their sapphire crystals while playing polo. Therefore, this piece could be reversed, allowing the caseback to be presented which in turn provided maximum dial protection.
To this day, the iconic Reverso is still one of the most popular Jaeger-LeCoultre watches to buy.
Crafted out of pink gold, it has a case diameter of 49.4mm and a thickness of 11.14mm. Offering just 30 metres of water resistance, this Reverso in our view is more dressy than diver inspired. Look, what did you expect for an event like the Oscars!
Given a pitch black, sunray-brushed dial with pink gold applique hour markers, this alternates on the caseback which has an opaline dial. The front features hour and minute timekeeping, while the back features chronograph functionality and a 30-minute counter.
Powered by the Calibre 860, this watch has a 52 hour power reserve alongside a 28,800VpH, the movement is made up of 292 components and is a very slender 5.44mm.
You can buy a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph at retail for £37,400 as of March 2024.
Cillian Murphy - Omega De Ville Prestige
Here he is, the big winner of the most successful film from 2023.
Cillian Murphy took home the spoils for Best Actor for Oppenheimer, adding another trophy to his ever-expanding cabinet which features Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award For Outstanding Performance.
Source - Town and Country Magazine via Arturo Holmes
For a man with such success from Oppenheimer, his other roles in Peaky Blinders and Misterman have raised his profile as an actor in demand. Outside of acting, his wristwear is a masterclass of watch collecting. In this case, he adorns the same timepiece he wore to the Baftas 2024…the Omega De Ville Prestige.
Originated from 1994, the Omega De Ville Prestige line is currently in its third generation. Boasting classy circular designs that offer refined aesthetics, these elegant novelties come in a range of styles. But Cillian Murphy’s is arguably the Rolls-Royce of this lineup.
With a case diameter of 41mm x 10.8mm thick, these stainless steel watches are rather slim, but perfect for slipping under shirt cuffs on the red carpet or swanning around the boardroom. The dial is a stunning display of Omega’s craftsmanship prowess. Featuring a PVD pine green dial with a random stamped vertical pattern, it’s finally finished with a sun-brushed shade.
The hour markers are split into cabochon and Roman numerals, all of which are made out of yellow gold. This is the same as the tapered hands with a functional date aperture located at 3 o’clock. This allows another level of complexity to the overall visuals.
Furthermore, there is a small seconds aperture at 6 o’clock with a railway minute track around the periphery of the dial. Powered by the Calibre 8802, this Co-Axial movement offers a weekend-proof 55 hour power reserve and Master Chronometer certification attributing to its high quality movement.
You can buy an Omega De Ville Prestige at retail for £4,800 as of March 2024.
Roger Federer - Rolex Daytona Le Mans
Perhaps the G.O.A.T of all goats? The OG of the hallowed turf?
What on earth is tennis star Roger Federer doing at the 2024 Oscars? Well, as part of his tour across California, he’s ended up meeting the Golden State Warriors and getting front row seats with his wife Mirka. And flexing his new squeeze, the Le Mans Daytona of which Mark Wahlberg is a proud owner.
Source - Daily Mail via Getty
The 20 time Grand Slam champ turned up with Mrs. F to The Oscars 2024 like James Bond and Mrs Moneypenny, with Federer wearing an all white suit and black bow tie. Now where has he hidden that martini?
While he may not have a huge total of acting awards, his sporting achievement on court such as 8 Wimbledon titles means he can pretty much parade wherever he wants. So, he turned up in all his suited glory alongside his gorgeous Rolex Daytona Le Mans.
This reverse panda dial 40mm timepiece is crafted out of white gold which boasts prestige, luxury and affluence. Rolex creates their own materials such as the white gold and their own ceramic on the bezel through their foundries which ensures the high quality craftsmanship of these watches.
The Cerachrom bezel is just as impactful with a tachymetric scale that has the “100” coloured in red, celebrating 100 years of the 24 hour of Le Mans. With its deep association with Paul Newman (his one sold for a cool $17.8 million) it is the ultimate ode to this most sterling of racing events.
The dial is pitch black which allows the white snail subdials, applique hour markers and hands to be highly visible. With a generous dose of Chromalight which is a highly luminescent material, it offers a strong neon blue shade in darkness.
Given baton hour markers and slim hands, the Daytona Le Mans ref.is powered by the 4132 calibre. Superlative Chronometer certified, wearers can enjoy -2/+2 seconds precision with a 72 hour power reserve.
You can buy a Rolex Daytona Le Mans at retail for £45,100 as of March 2024.
Dominic Sessa - Omega De Ville Tresor
Dominic Sessa hit the big time after his breakout role in The Holdovers through him from obscurity into the Oscars audience.
While he didn’t receive a nomination, he did join his fellow cast members who stepped up for five nominations including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Original Screenplay, Best Film Editing and Best Supporting Actress.
Source - X Omega
The young starlet looked more than suited to this swankiest of soirees. His black tux showcased his classic style sense and chirpy smile showed he was more than ready to eventually take the hot seat as a possible Oscar nominee.
In the meantime, he’ll take things easy as a spectator. However, one thing that did catch our eyes was his Omega De Ville Tresor. This collection first saw light back in 1949, but it remains a phenomenal collection to date, with a lot of its main design codes remaining in play.
The De Ville Tresor was revived in 2014 and is noted for being supremely elegant and contemporary. Taking a lot of influence from the original 1949 models, they are back in business for a celebrity clientele.
At 40mm, these steel timepieces are characterised by a slender and elegant circular case.
Fitted with a domed black dial, there are a number of functions, including a power reserve at 12 o’clock and a small seconds display at 6 o’clock. The thin hour markers and hands are crafted out of white gold which keeps in tandem with the case material.
This antimagnetic timepiece is Master Chronometer certified which showcases the precision of the timepieces. Offering around a 72 hour power reserve, the 8934 calibre has longevity and precision to last the longest of Oscar ceremonies.
You can buy an Omega De Ville Tresor at retail for £7,900 as of March 2024.
Cord Jefferson - Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional
Cord Jefferson may appear an understated gent in his suave black suit and black rimmed spectacles. But he has the mind of a creative giant!
Source - People via Getty
Making his directorial debut with American Fiction in 2023, he received two Oscar nominations for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay, but ended up winning Best Adapted Screenplay. With many more awards undoubtedly to come, Jefferson is a star riser among directors.
Mind you, he also dazzled us with his instantly recognisable Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional.
The Speedmaster is one of horology’s greatest triumphs. As the first watch to land on the moon in 1969, it was worn by none other than another famed triple-wrister…Buzz Aldrin. What are we on about?
Creating trends greater than London Fashion Week, the lunar legend is still making waves in his 90’s with three timepieces, the Skywalker X-33, X-33 Marstimer Chronograph and Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Speedmaster.
A brand new interpretation of the Speedy, it was soft launched in November 2023 by Daniel Craig during an Omega event in New York. And at the time of writing, there is an expected six month wait time for online users, it would only be a celebrity like Cord Jefferson that could get his hands on such a terrific timepiece!
Inspired by the iconic ALASKA I prototype from back in 1969, this model features a snow white dial and a large red thermal shield which was used to combat the fluctuating temperatures that were present in space.
At 42mm x 13.2mm these watches are shaped in the classic asymmetrical case alongside a white lacquered step dial…a first for the Speedmaster line, check out its recessed chronograph subdials and black hour markers that contrast nicely against the rest of the piece.
Featuring rare red Speedmaster text, inspired by the commander stripes on astronaut suits and the protective case on the ALASKA I, this adds a hint of colour against the white shade. Rounded off by the 3861 movement which has a 50 hour power reserve within the manual wind calibre it is Master Chronometer certified, giving the wearer top notch accuracy.
You can buy an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional at retail for £7,600 as of March 2024.
Chris Hemsworth - Audemars Piguet X 1017 ALYX 9SM Royal Oak Chronograph
Chris Hemsworth arrived at the 96th Oscars with wife Elsa Pataky. While it was her first attendance for a decade, the Aussie stalwart took the mantle on of presenter, revealing two top Oscars for Best Animated Feature and Best Animated Short.
Source - Twitter - Film Updates
Overall, it may not have been Chris Hemsworth's time to step up to the big seat, but he still gave the audience a few smirks and smiles with his jokes and A-list star charm. Recently, he hasn’t quite made the grade when it comes to picking up silverware.
In spite of falling short of the grandest stage of them all, he knows the feeling of victory. In recent years, he has picked up awards like People’s Choice Award 2020 for his role in Extraction and a Kid’s Choice Awards for Favourite Movie Actor in 2017.
Gold is gold and awards are always awards. This was especially the case during the 2024 Oscars as Hemsworth more than made up for it by flexing a yellow gold collab piece, the Audemars Piguet X 1017 ALYX 9SM Royal Oak Chronograph.
A bit of a mouthful it might be, but this edition is the result of Audemars Piguet joining forces with American designer Matthew Williams in 2023. With a total of four variations being released, Hemsworth goes for the decidedly glitzy yellow gold version. Why not?
1017 ALYX 9SM is a direct reference to the fashion brand founded by Matthew Williams. This entirely minimalist solid yellow gold measures 41mm and is of course home to the famed Royal Oak octagonal bezel with iconic 8 screw design. This is tied in with sharp chronograph pushers, crown and integrated bracelet.
But there’s something mysterious about this timepiece. What appears classically conventional and a solid link to the 1970s classic Royal Oak, is in fact completely done over with a very industrial design. Not quite the Kraftwerk of luxury watches but you get the point.
Gone are the counters and the indexes and you can say Sayonara to the Grand Tapisserie aesthetic. All that remains is vertical satin finishing from bracelet to bezel and subcounters..sans snailed pattern or edging.
The Royal Oak hands do remain however and they are filled with Luminova in order to prioritise legibility. For the chronograph functions, only the hands remain which may detract from their original purpose. But what is modern art without sacrifice right?
In case you want people to know that this isn’t your “standard” Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, the brand has kindly laid out 1017 ALYX 9SM in sizable text across 6 o’clock.
Beating at 28,800Vph or 4Hz, the timepieces are powered by the 4409 movement and have an impressive 70 hour power reserve. Offering flyback chronograph functionality, hours, minutes and small seconds.
Limited to 202 pieces, you can buy an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph at retail for £80,900 as of March 2024.
John Magaro - Breitling Premier B09 Chronograph
John Magaro is slowly becoming a household name for his acting career, including his role in Past Lives. While he won’t be thanking fans for any individual awards, this team player came along to see the films writer-director Celine Song eagerly await Oscar awards like Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay.
Source - eCartelera via AMPAS
So far, his trophy cabinets may appear a little empty. Only winning the Hollywood Film Awards Spotlight Award for Not Fade Away in 2012, his most recent nomination was for Hollywood Critics Association Midseason Film Awards: Best Supporting Actor for Past Lives. Once bitten, twice shy as they say!
Calm your nerves for a tick horophiles. He did note to turn up at the Oscars 2024 with enough wrist sauce to coat a fresh cut slice of beef. Let's introduce you to what we spotted on…the Breitling Premier B09 Chronograph.
The Premier is Breitling’s ode to the chronograph blueprints released by Gaston and Willy Breitling. If you remember, these great generations of Breitling were integral in both influencing and subsequently releasing new plays on the chronograph, including:
- 1915 - Gaston Breitling producing the first ever wrist-worn chronograph with an independent pusher at 2 o’clock
- 1923 - Moved reset-to-zero function to the crown while keeping start/stop on pusher at 2 o’clock.
- 1934 - Willy Breitling adds second pusher at 4 o’clock, designed to reset the chronograph back to zero
This steel Premier B09 Chronograph keeps the functionality of the chronograph and adds a gorgeous design outlay, including a 40mm x 13mm dimension layout, screw-down caseback and 100 metres of water resistance.
These circular shaped watches do have a certain level of dressiness to them. Tipping the scales at 95 grams, this sits in the happy medium of a slightly heavy dress watch, but a light sports timepiece. Nothing wrong with the middle ground!
The dial has a silvery white sheen and sunray aesthetic to allow light to promote various elements such as the silvered Arabic hour markers emanating instant legibility not to mention the dual chronograph subdials at 3 and 9 o’clock.
Given a tachymetric scale on the dials periphery, we do admire the Premier’s level of complexity. This can easily be missed if you get drawn into the sumptuous polished lug tops, chamfered edges and glinting Breitling logo below 12 o’clock!
Powered by the Breitling B09 movement, this hand-wound calibre skips along at 28,800VpH with a weekend-proof power reserve of 70 hours. Rounded off with chronograph functionality totalling ¼ second and 30 minutes, perhaps he might level up next year to a Rolex Coke?
You can buy a Breitling Premier B09 Chronograph 40mm at retail for £6,950 as of March 2024.
Brendan Fraser – OMEGA Constellation (Rose Gold)
Back in time for the 2024 Oscars is last year's Oscars winner for best male actor, Brendan Fraser.
Source - Omega
The Whale star is back again, but for 2024 he’s chosen to flaunt another Omega.
Opting to flash the horological goods with a Constellation, he chooses a variation with enough precious metal to turn a steel-lover's stomach! Sized at 41mm, this number follows on from the classic Constellation visual with a number of now-famous characteristics.
Featuring claws on the sides of the case, these were introduced in 1982 and are used to represent eternity to give them that Constellation feel. There are even half-moon facets which are another direct link to the original models.
Measuring 41mm x 13.5mm thick, this material is Omega’s very own alloy. Inspired by the planet Sedna, or the reddest planet in the solar-system, the materials feature a few other components like palladium and copper in order to give the watches their colour and shine.
The dials are sun-brushed blue and fitted with a date window located at 6 o’clock. This resides just below the singular star emblem that acts as a confirmation of the watches chronometric precision. The hands and faceted indexes are all made out of 18K Sedna gold.
Powered by the Omega 8901 the Constellation has a 60 hour power reserve. Chronometer certified, this timepiece ensures maximum anti-magnetism and longevity.
You can buy an Omega Constellation 41mm Sedna Gold at retail for £23,800 as of March 2024.
Taylor Zakhar Perez - Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Tourbillon Retrograde Date Openface
Taylor Zakhar Perez arrived at the Oscars 2024 with the knowledge that he would not be receiving a single award. No problem, you might think but he still dazzled us all with his powder blue Prada suit and black bow tie demure.
Source - Entertainment Weekly via Getty
Cutting his teeth in films and several shows like Red, White & Royal Blue and Kissing Booth, the latter became the most popular movie ever on Netflix and thrust Illinois born Taylor into stardom.
For horology lovers, Taylor Zakhar Perez may have actually stolen the show by pulling off a stunning Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Tourbillon Retrograde Date Openface.
This particular Vacheron Constantin is a good show of the brand's design and creative expression. Sized at 41mm with a thickness of 11.07mm these watches are not too chunky on the wrist. And this makes clear sense as to why Taylor Zakhar Perez could so easily hide them under his silky sleeves.
Crafted out of rose gold and built into the simplistic Traditionelle line, the watches undergo polishing and chamfering on the edges of the lugs to keep things looking sharper than a pinstripe suit. The dial is grey slate which is attained through NAC surface treatment. You can actually view this on the front of the dial or through the sapphire caseback.
The dial is fitted with rose gold baton hour markers and tapered hands which clearly stand against the grey, partially skeletonised dial. At 6 o’clock is a tourbillon that ensures the precision of the timepieces while At 12 o’clock is a retrograde calendar which offers a contemporary design to the pieces.
Powered by the 2162 R31 calibre, the models offer an 18,000 VpH and a fantastic 72 hour power reserve. Hallmark of Geneva certified, you can be assured of the timepiece's quality.
You can buy a Vacheron Constantin Tourbillon Retrograde Date Open Face at retail when you request a price as of March 2024.
John Cena - Rolex Explorer II
Do you want the naked truth?

Oppenheimer may have cleaned up the awards, taking home seven awards at the 2024 Oscars. But WWE fans favourite John Cena clearly stole the show (and Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue) thanks to this brazen display of naturism. Yes, we’ll get to the Explorer in a tick.
50 years since English teacher Robert Opel stormed the stage during David Niven’s handover to Elizabeth Taylor, where she was due to present the Best Picture gong, Cena recreated that candid moment in 2024. Complete with an aptly positioned envelope for Best Costume Design.
Speaking of costumes, every great event in history is characterised by an equally fabulous watch. How could we possibly forget the wrestler's popular Rolex Explorer II.
If he decided to go exploring after the show in his nude state, he may have been very chilly, but he’d be guided by one of the best adventure watches on the marketplace. Inspired by the Oyster Perpetual that Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hilary wore ascending Mount Everest in 1953, the Explorer was released the exact same year out of celebration.
This phenomenal event allowed Rolex to release the Explorer and eventually the Explorer II. Sized at 42mm, this piece is designed out of Oyster Steel which is Rolex’s very own proprietary version. Utilising the highest 904L version of steel, it features a Twinlock crown and screw-down caseback with water depth ratings of 100 metres.
Noted for a 24 hour bezel, this allows the wearer to read both AM and PM times which is essentially when deep cave exploring or unsure how long you’ve been popping champagne corks for. This works in conjunction with the bright orange 24 hour hand, arrow tip.
The white dial allows the watches to have a “polar” nickname which is very apt given the Explorer’s innate heritage. The hour markers are given black edging and a thick coat of lume across the dots and baton indices with a date aperture situated at 3 o’clock.
A timeless model with oodles of history, it is powered by the 3285 calibre which offers GMT functionality alongside a 70 hour power reserve. Supported by a Parachrom hairspring and high performance Paraflex shock absorbers, it is more than capable of resisting shocks and offering exceptional results.
You can buy a Rolex Explorer II at retail for £8,500 as of March 2024.
Conclusion
There were many standouts to admire from The 2024 Oscars with all the major luxury brands in attendance, vying for position.
The looks of the main protagonists were more exciting than the main event as the red carpet is always a horological hotbed of anticipation and interest for watch lovers.
And it did not disappoint with Cartier, Omega and Rolex fighting for every inch of the floor. But where were the AP’s?
With a few plot twists thicker than The Usual Suspects, men’s watches really did sparkle making us want more next year. And we didn’t have time to mention Peter Parker actor Andrew Garfield’s Omega De Ville Trésor with retro “Clou de Paris” pattern in Sedna Gold.
