One of the oldest surviving watch brands, Breguet have been the choice of timepieces for some of history's most influential and important people. Founded in 1775 by Abraham - Louis Breguet, widely considered as 'the greatest watch maker of all time', and from his genius, watch lovers and horolgy itself owes himself him a huge gratitude for his pioneering work in creating and developing many numerous technologies and innovative techniques in watch-making, most of which are still used to this day by many watch brands. Breguet was notable for creating the 'Tourbillon' in 1801, a regulator movement that is specifically designed to counteract the effects of gravity on the watch movement, by placing both balance and the escapements in a rotating cage allowing both parts to rotate around the common axis, covering all positions to average out errors and timekeeping.
