Since 2020, the luxury fashion conglomerate has been hosting brand new first releases of the calendar year from their stable of major watchmaking brands including Bvlgari, TAG Heuer and Zenith.
Hosted in Singapore every January, its fourth edition presented several outstanding pieces from Tag Heuer’s update of the iconic Monza Flyback Chronometer to Bvlgari’s Serpenti Seduttori.

Bvlgari Launches Serpenti Seduttori and Serpenti Tubogas Infinity

This year, four models were brought to the horological table at LMVH 2023, including Bvlgari’s Diva’s Dream. Inspired by its most admired pieces of jewellery, you won’t find any reason to throw a diva strop with this ostentatious luxury watch.

The high-end producer has captured the Diva Dream’s fan shaped composition to perfection. Produced from mother of pearl, the dial on this timepiece now welcomes eight of these iconic creations and numerous gemstones for an even blingier finish.

But it’s the Bvlgari Serpenti collection that has caught the eye, going back to its legendary triangular shaped snake motif roots. Updated for 2023, the Italian jewellery designer has pulled out all the stops with The Bvlgari Tubogas Infinity.

Measuring 35mm, it features a striking coil style bracelet. Brimming with precious gems, this timepiece is dripping with as much glamour as Marilyn Monroe. Available in one or two of these fabulous coils.

Bvlgari’s Tubogas Infinity is home to its unique Tubogas technology ensuring the bracelet’s distinctive spring-action coiling movement can be seen across both case and all of the components.

Originally developed in 2019, it’s made from 18K rose gold and boasts a staggering 445 diamonds on the one coiled version with 486 diamonds adorned on the two coiled model. Meanwhile, the understated Serpenti Seduttori is another sexy launch from LMVH 2023.

If you want to buy a watch with a subtle case that oozes optimal sophistication and class, The Bvlgari Serpenti Seduttori has it in spades. Unleash the serpent in you with its captivating cabochon-cut pink rubellite crown.

Measuring 33mm, the small case still makes a big impact thanks to its black lacquer dial. The gorgeous two tone rose and white gold bracelet evokes a hexagonal scaly snake pattern due to the bracelet links making an impression on any watch collector. Despite spawning many reiterations, The Bvlgari Serpenti Seduttori remains as eye-catching and as timeless as Sophia Loren.

Zenith Introduces The Defy Skyline Skeleton

Looks like Zenith have defied the odds again. It seems all is very well at LMVH Watch Week 2023 with their latest luxury offering, The Defy Skyline Skeleton.

Dating back to 1865, Zenith are considered one of the most highly respected Swiss brands on the market. Sure, they may not be as decent as an investment if you want to buy a Rolex but you pay for what you get.

Nevertheless, between 1998 and 2000, Rolex acquired automatic chronograph movements from the Zenith El Primero incorporating them into The Rolex Daytona. It is this respect that has got watch communities talking about its updated Defy Skyline Skeleton.

Say goodbye to the signature star skeleton design with five points and hello to the four point design. Available in either a blue-toned or black-toned openworked dial, this signifies a far more contemporary objective to LMVH’S watchmaking ethos.

And the inspiration behind Zenith’s most recent pieces? Modern cityscapes. That's the official line we hear from Julien Tornare, CEO of Zenith;

““In just one year, the DEFY Skyline has become one of the most in-demand lines for Zenith. Its strong visual identity, unique movement and effortless versatility have made it a compelling choice within the sporty steel bracelet segment,” he added.

Since 1969, The Defy collection has been on an impressive horological journey. New for 2023 is a spanking new skeletonized model delivering a design way ahead of its times. It also claims a world first as the first skeleton watch of its kind to house a 1/10th of a second indicator. Bold indeed.

So let's get hands on with this stylish luxury sports watch. Measuring 41mm, the El Primero high frequency three hand movement can be found under the perfectly aligned bridges. Home to a modern angular steel case and 60 hour power reserve, the distinctive 1/10th of a second function does one turn every 10 seconds. There's no turning back time here, watch nerds.

Powered by one of the Swiss manufacturer's most popular movements, the automatic Zenith El Primero 3620 SK calibre, the Defy collection is being touted as the future of the brands watchmaking. Blending innovative materials with more forward thinking movements, if you are looking to buy a Zenith skeletonised timepiece that can stand up to a pounding, The Defy collection is hard to beat.

With an RRP at a smidgen over £9,000 retail price, it comes complete with screw down crown displaying the Zenith star symbol just below noon, quick push button interchangeable straps, 100m water resistance and hour markers filled with Super-Luminova. Exquisite work Zenith.

TAG Heuer Monza Makes a Comeback

An update to its flyback chronograph range, TAG Heuer is off the grid quickly with this new complication.

Buy a TAG Heuer watch and you are investing in not just their legendary heritage but true racing spirit. We are all too familiar with the Swiss brand’s ties to motorsport across its range of watches like The Tag Heuer F1 and signature Tag Heuer Monaco 24 McQueen, previously worn by Al-Nassr signing Cristiano Ronaldo. Yet, this long winded tale is as old as Jack and The Beanstalk.

From race car champion to casual wearer in the blink of a pit stop, a flyback chronograph allows a potential racer to save those all important milliseconds by giving the wearer time to begin the chronograph without halting it initially.

With some calling it a brash entry into the infamous Monza lineup, the feather like case is made from carbon and benefits from the exceedingly remarkable in-house Calibre Heuer 02 COSC Flyback movement.

So what else is driving watch lovers made about this brand new piece? Black DLC-coated steel pushers and crown, 80 hour power reserve, blackened rotor and in-house column-wheel movement to name but a few main elements.

Measuring 42mm, the carbon black openworked skeletonized dial is nonetheless eye-catching. The transparent fume blue sapphire crystal chronograph counter is located at 3 o’clock with three specific racing functions dedicated to speed freaks.

If you want to buy a Tag Heuer watch enjoying first rate precision inside, the new TAG Heuer Monza Flyback Chronometer won’t let you down. This is largely down to the chronograph, tachymeter scale for measuring speed and pulsometer. Note the sub-dial hands and highlighting of the date window in red as well as cobalt blue hour markers capturing horological hearts.

Tag Heuer Unveils 60th Anniversary Limited Edition Carrera Chronograph

There’s chronographs and then there’s this devilishly nice piece. Racing off the grid next is The TAG Heuer Carrera 60th Anniversary Edition.

Now, TAG are blessed to have not one but three chronographs in their horological catalogue. Some chronographs like The Omega Speedmaster are renowned for their specific stopwatch function or defining an iconic moment in pop culture.

But TAG takes it up a level (three to be precise) with the emblematic square faced TAG Heuer Monaco as worn by Easy Rider Steve McQueen, The Autavia and The Carrera, named after the infamous Panamericana Road Race during the 60’s.

The Monaco hit the big 50 in 2019 while The Autavia reached the tender age of 60 back in 2021. It’s now the turn of The Carrera to step forward as it reaches its 60th in 2023. A slice of vintage heritage, the Maison has limited this particular model to just 600 pieces globally.

First impressions are key. And judging by first glance, it’s a question of who’s first past the post if you intend to buy a TAG Heuer like this one. Inspired by the reference 2447 SN, (“silver” and “noir”) the panda style dial takes centre stage.

Known as “Big Eyes” to some, this reissued model is highly desirable among watch collectors. So why are those wing mirrors getting all steamed up? Truth be told they have maintained many of the design aspects that make the reference 2447 SN so unique. Standout black sub-dials, silver sunray brushed dial, beige lume, retro pushers and sapphire crystal case back ensure a truly epic vintage feel.

Measuring 39mm, the one time hand-wound Valjoux movement is replaced with something with as much firepower as a dragon. Inside, you will find a powerful Calibre Heuer 02 revolutionising this timepiece with other revamped elements such as the retro TAG Heuer logo and “SWISS” positioned on the seconds sub-dial counter.

With an RRP of £6,100, the original TAG Heuer reference 2447N is considered one of the most visually appealing and coveted Carreras of the lot. Now where did we put the Bollinger!

LMVH Watch Week 2023 has without doubt seen a number of showstopping models epitomising precision, accuracy and vintage chic luxury refinery.
