Bringing 2025 to a timely conclusion with two limited edition watches housing Calibre Initial, a duo of cases in rose gold and stainless steel with natural gemstone dials, introducing the new Pequignet Attitude Tiger’s Eye
In Brief
- Established in 2021, the Attitude collection is having a horological expansion with a brand new Tiger’s Eye dial, ready for the festive season.
- With coppery undertones and warm golden brown accents, these watches are an early Christmas present featuring a limited edition numbered run with 55 pieces (50 in stainless steel and 5 featuring a rose gold case)
- With natural polishing, refinement and intriguing interplay between light and colour, it’s an ideal unisex piece, boasting superb precision via Calibre Initial, known for its technical prowess and unrelenting pursuit of the highest French watchmaking standards.
- Established in 1973, Pequignet is renowned for timepieces such as the Concorde and the Royale. The latter incorporates the Calibre Royal with an astonishing 96 hours power reserve and Rolex chronometric precision of +2 or -2 seconds per day
Personality Of The Pequignet Attitude Tiger’s Eye
The Tiger’s Eye dial is sure to be a roaring success…especially as they have been introduced as limited-edition pieces! 50 in stainless steel cases and just 5 in rose gold.

At 39mm x 9.20mm, to give you an idea, the dimensions of the new Pequignet Attitude Tiger’s Eye is 1mm less than a Rolex Submariner Date ref. 116613LB “Bluesy” and 0.8mm more slender than an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak ref. 15467BC.OO.1256BC.01.

And there’s plenty of depth and light emanating from the visual architecture. After all, if Rolex can put out an Oyster Perpetual with Tiger Iron dial for more than £40,000…why not Pequignet? Ok, so Wilsdorf adds in red jasper and silvery hematite.
Yet, the French brand’s offering is still complex, with more character than a Petrus 1945.
Presented on ultra luxurious cashmere alligator straps, produced by bespoke watch strap and leather goods maker Maison Jean Rousseau, the rose gold case enjoys a rosewood burgundy variation, while the stainless steel case model has a light grey number.

A bold, wrist-worthy statement, suitable for both men and ladies, the new limited edition Pequignet Attitude Tiger’s Eye is home to their third movement, Calibre Initial.

Housing pierced oscillating weight with snailing decoration, stop second and embossed “fleur de lys” logo, there is a solid 65 hours of power reserve. And they have history in the movement business.
With a horological pedigree to match.
Especially off the back of their inspirational partnership with Atelier Wen, one of the top movers and shakers on the independent scene, when they teamed up with Co-Founders Robin Tallendier and Wilfried Buiron on the Jiao.

Like the movement on this novelty, etched with “Questions to Heaven” (天问), one of the most enigmatic poems in early Chinese literature, the brand’s calibres truly are the stuff of legends.

Speaking of which, check out my exclusive interview with the President and CEO of Pequignet, Hugues Souparis at Watches and Wonders 2025.
Other highlights to mention feature rounded polished hands in 5N gold, 50 metres water resistance, 18mm lug width and screwed sapphire caseback.
This novelty has an attitude, all of its own.

Last Minute Thoughts
So what’s our view? Time to sum up.
Stone dials are becoming ever increasingly popular from many independent brands. Why, one brand in particular with a penchant for this, picked up a 2025 GPHG award in the category of Challenge Watch Prize.
Pequignet embodies a blend of French elegance, technical mastery, and understated luxury, nestled in Morteau, the cradle of French watchmaking.
Highlighted by the innovative Calibre Royal movement, their dedication to precision and aesthetic harmony, integrating complications seamlessly into a refined execution, continues right until the end of the year, when many are winding down.
Besides, this is no ordinary stocking-filler!
The price point of the 316L stainless case variation is almost on par, price wise to a Tudor Black Bay Pro or Breitling Navitimer. Plus, you are benefiting from impeccable chronometric accuracy.
Despite Wilsdorf’s smaller sibling having COSC and METAS, and the majority of their watches having a 70 hour power reserve, it’s not a patch on what Pequignet delivers, in particular the Calibre Royal with nearly 100 hours.
Furthermore, there is a certain subtle detailing that appeals to collectors and, unlike Santa, seeks sophistication without any excess or gorging. Oh yes, this is attitude, alright, but done elegantly and with the right amount of finesse.
Some food for thought perhaps, over the Christmas season…
