1. Rolex Oyster Perpetual
As classic as a Hermes handbag, we’re pretty sure there’s a lot of women collectors out there with a Christmas wish list that begins with the word Rolex.
And it’s highly likely that the model they have their eyes set upon is the Swiss brand’s forever timeless Oyster Perpetual Datejust. Originally created in 1945, this model is more than just a statement of luxury and style. It is a genuine embodiment of Rolex’s drive to innovate as it originally made history as the world’s first self-winding waterproof chronometer to feature a date window.
Source: Rolex
As per the Omega Speedmaster, this game changing timepiece is not overshadowed by the mass of technical feats lying within. The date is magnified by Wilsdorf’s signature Cyclops lens for undeniable legibility and placed upon a glamourous array of festive-worthy dials. You can find displays in green, chocolate, blue, gold, silver, purple and “Tiffany” blue.
Buy a watch from the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust collection set with diamonds, crafted from mother of pearl or adorned with a more simple, classically timeless sunray-brushed display.
The 36mm sized Rolex Oyster Perpetual designs are an ideal choice for the feminine wrist, electing the iconic Oyster Steel case and fluted bezel, a mark of distinction for the crown-wearing brand. Fun fact: the fluting of the Oyster bezel once had a functional purpose: ensuring additional waterproofness of the design. Overtime, the detailing became a signature piece of decoration for the model. Now, thanks to a screw down crown, we’re still guaranteed a 100 metre water resistance allowing the watch to follow you effortlessly from Christmas morning to a summer vacation and even an icy cool pre-lunch dive into the hot tub.
Source: Rolex
Some of our personal favourite Rolex Oyster Perpetual watches are those terrific two-tone numbers that merge together two metals: steel and gold. The contrasting colours and luxury finishes add a bit of extra pizazz, especially when combined with the special Jubilee bracelet. Plus, if celeb flexers like Rihanna and Lady Gaga are considering the two-toned look a worthy investment, then it’s likely that someone special will too.

2. Breitling Navitimer 32
For many male watch collectors, the ultimate pilot’s watch for a timepiece collection is the Breitling Navitimer. Why? Let us enlighten you for a second.
This aviation inspired symbol was first introduced back in 1952, highlighted by its innovative slide rule function that allowed pilots and aviation enthusiasts to make essential calculations in the cockpit. This feature was integrated with a unique beaded rotating bezel to make it easy to manipulate.
The Breitling Navitimer has evolved and transformed several times over in the last seventy-odd years, but its distinctive beaded décor is almost always a centrepiece within the women’s line-up.
The Navitimer 36 will no doubt speak to women collectors with their own passion for aviation since its smaller size still features the circular slide rule. The Breitling Navitimer 32, on the other hand, calls for dressier occasions, foregoing the slide rule in favour of a choice of simple yet sleek, mother of pearl, diamond-decorated displays.
Source: Breitling
Shades of pastel pink, sky blue and creamy white mother of pearl are dotted with radiant diamond indices that will sparkle brighter than the lights on the Christmas tree…or outside your home for that matter.
These subtle adornments give this women’s model a glitzy appeal worthy of an Oscars red carpet appearance. This goes hand in hand alongside the gleaming polish of the steel cases and five-row link metal straps. And yet, once she learns of the invigorating tech housed inside, she’ll soon learn this is more than just a pretty dress watch.
The Breitling Navitimer 32 is fuelled by the brand’s Breitling 77 thermo-compensated SuperQuartz movement, an in-house calibre that claims to be 10 times more accurate than a normal quartz movement. We don’t have time to put that to the test but this packs more of a punch than Mike Tyson.
She’ll have no excuse for missing that last minute train ever again! The Swiss made technology sends the time-only hands around the dial smoothly, including a red-tipped seconds hand.
Source: Breitling
If you’re out here looking to buy a watch for yourself and that lucky lady this Christmas, the legendary Breitling Navitimer collection is a great place to dip your horological toe to initiate that collection.
There are a host of unisex designs and plenty of matching men’s and women’s luxury watches that will leave you looking like the Posh and Becks of the horology world at your next Christmas party.
RETAIL PRICE:

3. Cartier Tank
There are some watches that never go out of fashion. And there are some timepieces that are so enduring, time will never be the enemy.
Like the Patek Philippe Aquanaut, Rolex Daytona or the Omega Speedmaster, the Cartier Tank is one of those exclusive timepieces that refuses to go away – and for good reason. For more than a century, the design, while distinctively dressy and sophisticated, has a surprisingly militarian background that has remained steadfast to its purpose.
First debuting in 1917, the Cartier Tank pays homage to the sleek lines and refined engineering of the French Renault FT-17 tanks used during World War I. Those two vertical “brancards” (French for stretcher) on either side of the dial evoke the tank treads while the case is shaped after a bird’s eye view of the tank’s cabin.
A military vehicle isn’t my first thought for inspiration behind a feminine dress watch, but Cartier knows what they’re doing. And the unconventionality of this timepiece has seen its appeal skyrocket among enthusiasts and collectors.
Source: Cartier
Even after 100 years, the Cartier Tank remains an icon of classic sophistication and versatility for many women globally. There are rectangular watches at almost every size; those coming in at 27mm x 22mm or 30mm x 25mm are often preferred by those with daintier wrists.
Each has premium sapphire crystal glass, cases in steel or gold and an array of display colours and styles to match every little black dress. Cartier Tank watches with the white display, black Roman numerals and beaded crown set with the instantly recognisable cabochon-shaped spinel will forever be a classic.
It’s the very same Princess Diana famously wore on a black leather strap for much of her life as a royal. Michelle Obama posed in one with a metal strap back in 2009 while more contemporary wearers include Tom Holland and actor Rami Malek, who is known for sporting the Cartier Tank Francaise.
Well he is one of their brand ambassadors. Oh yes, they certainly know how to move with the times.
Source: Cartier
Reflecting strength and beauty in equal measure, especially when advocated by some of the strongest women in history, it seems only right to share it with women of equal stature this Christmas.
Trust us, when we say you’ll be off the naughty list with this luxury beauty.
RETAIL PRICE:

4. TAG Heuer Carrera 36 - Pink Dial
From aircrafts to military tanks and now to the world of motorsport, our next contender on the best women’s watches for Christmas is the simple yet understated three handed TAG Heuer Carrera. Trust us, you won’t be disappointed with this coming down the chimney at this time of year.
Another timepiece certainly deserving of notoriety, the Carrera was first introduced in 1963 by Jack Heuer, the great-grandson of the brand’s founder, almost purely out of his own passions for motorsport.
The model takes its name from the Carrera Panamericana race across 2km plus of perilous Mexican terrain and presents sleek architectures with easy-to-read displays, aimed at professional drivers and racing enthusiasts.
Typically, the Carrera is synonymous with TAG Heuer’s innovation in chronographs, but of course, sleeker profiles and cleaner dials are also called for – by both men and women. In this way, time-and-date only variants like the TAG Heuer Carrera 36 thankfully exist too.
Source: TAG Heuer
There’s plenty to applaud Jack Heuer for here. The 36mm wide stainless steel housings sit beautifully low on the wrist, slipping nicely under a shirt cuff, denim jacket or that garish Christmas jumper. But you can offset it with this gorgeous number.
The H-shaped link bracelets do the trick, equipped with practical folding clasps alongside double safety-push buttons. From within, you have the ever-reliable Calibre 7 automatic winding movement which offers a weekend-proof 56-hour power reserve. Perfect for that wintry weekend away in the Alps or cosying up by the logfire in your Genevan lair.
It’s safe to say the TAG Heuer Carrera has found plenty of popularity over the last few months, especially after our modern-day Ken – aka Ryan Gosling – was seen flexing not one, not two, but three gold Carrera’s in the new Barbie film.
Just before the movie was released, Gosling was spotted at the premiere wearing one particular Carrera 36 with a pink sunray dial. This novelty captures the true essence of our favourite blonde-haired, plastic doll and will no doubt be a winner this festive season with women collectors that also love the magenta hue…and looking to buy a TAG Heuer with bags of Kenergy spirit.

5. Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra
With an excellent heritage, robust design and impressive all-round performance, it’s not difficult to see why the Omega Seamaster remains on the Christmas wish lists of female collectors everywhere.
Now, to the trained eye, many connoisseurs are all too familiar with the epic Speedmaster that’s as timeless as The Beatles Now and Then, released 54 years after previously hitting the number 1 spot. You know, the one from 1957 that saw Buzz Aldrin in 1969 flex his timekeeping muscles on the moon wearing the Speedy. How time flies.
The Seamaster is one of the longest remaining models in the Swiss brand’s portfolio, debuting in 1948, and to this day continues to hold strong with superior water resistant ratings, master chronometer certification, rugged and reliable architectures and movements resistant to magnetic fields greater than 15,000 gauss.
The Omega Seamaster owes much of its popularity to action-hero James Bond who has worn a Seamaster in every single movie since 1995. One of the many watches strapped to Daniel Craig’s wrist is in fact the Omega Aqua Terra 150m.
It just so happens that this elegant diver’s instrument with a blue dial seemed like the perfect fit for Bond in Spectre, recalling Omega’s marine heritage and Bond’s own naval credentials. But don’t let the imposing masculinity of our favourite action hero deter you from looking to buy an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra for Christmas.
What’s our view? This is without doubt a worthy women’s watch, befitting of making a Yuletide appearance…and beyond.
Source: Omega
There’s plenty of Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra watches any female would be happy to find under the tree or in their stocking this festive season. As well as compact 34mm sizes, there’s larger cases up to 42mm wide with paired dials with every colour of the rainbow…some decorated with gemstones and mother of pearl.
Those with 34mm-wide cases still honour the design DNA of their larger counterparts but elect to flaunt feminine design details on the dial to glam up the luxury sports aesthetic. The sunray-brushed displays in pink, purple and lagoon green are uniquely engineered from brass and set with 18ct white gold hands and indexes which are given a generous dose of white Super-LumiNova.
Of course, for women that like their watches to sparkle brighter than the angel on top of the Christmas tree, you can find Seamaster Aqua Terra watches with mother of pearl displays, indices set with diamonds and a colourful spectrum of gemstone adorned bezels.
We think they’re not only beautiful, but incredibly accurate. And the proof is in the Christmas or figgy pudding. Each Seamaster Aqua Terra is powered by the Co Axial Master Chronometer calibre 8800. This movement isn’t just certified to chronometer standards but has gone through rigorous tests, officially set by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).
RETAIL PRICE:
Buy an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra from £6,200 (As of November 2023)
6. Vacheron Constantin Heures Créatives Heure Romantique
If Marilyn Monroe says diamonds are a girl’s best friend, then we’re inclined to agree. And for the female watch enthusiast, there’s really no better combination than diamonds and timekeeping.
One top luxury brand who certainly knows how to use these sparkling gemstones is Vacheron Constantin, especially within their Art Deco-inspired Heures Créatives Heure Romantique collection.
Vacheron Constantin’s collection of women’s watches is rather extensive, and rightly so since this premium brand has been creating feminine wrist wear since the early 19th century. One design nurtured by their 200-year long heritage is the Vacheron Constantin Heures Créatives Heure Romantique. The collection was revisited in 2015, composed as a trilogy inspired by historical watches from their illustrious past.
Source: Vacheron Constantin
Married for life, just as Omega is with the Olympics and Audemars Piguet is with Marvel, the Vacheron Constantin Heures Créatives Heure Romantique is born from an intimate dialogue between jewellery making and horology. The melting cases, which are certainly worthy of a Salvador Dali painting, bring to life a 1916 design from the brand’s past with an emblematic Art Nouveau style.
The curves of the case are set with 104 brilliant cut white diamonds across two levels for that extra Oscars glitz which resonate as much as the bezel of a rainbow watch. And the gemstones don’t stop there. Diamonds are placed all around the leaf-like lugs and on the top of the finely knurled crown. It really is a spectacular show of jewellery-like uber elegance.
For the passing of time, two delicate black hands for the hours and minutes are set centre stage of a shimmering black or white mother of pearl dial. To match its hardware, the design clasps to the wrist by a black satin strap.
Fitting flawlessly into its floral-shaped housing, the manual-winding Calibre 1055 marks off the hours and minutes. Made from 115 components, this movement is no quick fix, but a testament to Vacheron Constantin’s creativity. It offers 21 jewels, beats at a rate of 21,600 vibrations per hour and runs for approximately 40 hours.
Not quite weekend-proof but at least you can enjoy the tactility of winding the crown.
RETAIL PRICE:
Buy a Vacheron Constantin Heures Créatives Heure Romantique from £60,500 (As of November 2023)
7. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 37
Another trend for the horological industry right now is the integrated luxury sports watch. And while major brands left, right and centre are placing their own take on the luxury market, none will ever quite climb the ranks of legends quite like the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak.
Created by Gerald Genta, the man, the myth, the horological legend behind many timepieces such as the IWC Ingenieur, the story behind this icon is just as fascinating as the design itself. In fact, it’s one of the many reasons so many men and women dream of wanting to buy an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak for themselves.
The Royal Oak was first introduced during the early 1970’s, a time when the entire Swiss watch industry was facing a bit of an existential crisis – otherwise known as the Quartz Crisis. The arrival of these inexpensive, battery-powered movements delivered a whole lot of anxiety to the mechanical watch industry.
Yes, more trepidation than was felt by those in the back of the queue for the Omega Moonswatch launch. However, for Georges Golay, Managing Director of Audemars Piguet at the time, he took the initiative to do something about it and appointed Gerald Genta to design a new luxury sports timepiece that would blow the quartz model off any critic’s wrist.
Source: Audemars Piguet
The rest as they say is history and the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak was born, showcasing a signature octagonal bezel, integrated strap and eight statement screws. Ever since, the AP Royal Oak has transcended any fears of quartz movement invasion and has ultimately instigated an entire genre of watches itself! When you buy an Audemars Piguet you are investing not only in time but history and indescribable lineage.
A prerequisite for many collectors, and for those with smaller wrists, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 37mm often tops the list. With all the same characteristics as its larger counterparts, like Roger Federer, the 37mm Royal Oak epitomises sports elegance at its very finest.
The cases of steel and 18 carat gold are hand-polished and satin-brushed for a refined finish and pair with sapphire crystal glass, integrated metal straps and faceted crowns for effortless wear. They can be dressed down with denim jackets and summer dresses or up with more formal attire such as a silky evening gown and heels.
There are a number of dial colours to choose from including several stamped with the emblematic guilloché “Tapisserie” pattern and others rather opulently decorated with diamonds for that extra bit of glam.
Source: Audemars Piguet
Helping to keep the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 37’s housing nice and slim is the brand’s Calibre 5900 self-winding movement. The Swiss made calibre is equipped with 29 jewels, a power reserve of 60 hours and runs at a frequency of 28,800vph for exceptional accuracy of the hours, minutes, seconds and date. When you buy a watch like this, you know you are in good hands for many Christmas’ to come.
Although not quite grail worthy, in our view, it comes very close.

Buy an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak from £23,800 (as of November 2023)
8. Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso
There are some women that aren’t necessarily drawn to the blingy, gemstone-set timepieces, but instead want something enduring and a little bit robust. Back in 1930, businessman César de Trey wanted something of the same. He dreamed of a sophisticated piece of horology that would play its part off the pitch yet stay protected while on the back of a horse playing polo.
So, de Trey approached his friend Jacques-David LeCoultre and asked him to produce a watch under these specifications. Perfect timing, you might say. Just a year later, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso was born, and for the last near-decade, this model has become the epitome of innovative horological craftsmanship.
The design allows the wearer to flip the case like a pancake on Tuesday to protect the dial. It’s practical, elegant and all-round good fun. In some instances, like the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Monoface, the back reveals a blank sheet of stainless steel for complete protection of the glass. In other instances, however, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso can arrive with even more tricks up its sleeve.
Source: Jaeger-LeCoultre
We’re all a little guilty of changing our minds on a whim, and with the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Duetto watches, that whim is most certainly rewarded this time. These clever women’s designs come with two completely different dials on either side of the case. So, whether it’s just a change in mood or a quick outfit change, you can swap to a style that better suits.
No matter which Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso you choose, they all feature the original three-lined gadroons across their steel or gold architecture and 12 Arabic numerals upon their two-toned finished dials. There’s sizing for every feminine wrist shape, from 40mm x 20mm models to smaller 34mm x 21mm. Housed within each is a manual winding movement with 18 jewels, a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and a 38 hour power reserve.
What it lacks in weekend-proof movement is without question enhanced by its inner beauty, classical architectural design and brand reputation that’s an ideal luxury gift this festive season.

9. Longines Mini Dolcevita
Our final piece of wrist wear in today’s run down of the best luxury women’s watches for gifting this Christmas comes from one of our favourite Saint-Imier watchmakers: Longines. The company with the winged hourglass logo has almost two centuries of expertise designing and handcrafting watches for the everyday.
They truly have created a horological fix to suit every occasion and taste which could be considered as a more than suitable entry-level luxury timepiece. Firstly, you have the Longines HydroConquest for the sporty ones amongst us, the Longines Spirit defined by five-star motifs and chronometer movements for aviators and plenty of potentially investable limited editions in their Heritage collection, with a nod to past references.
Then of course, you have the indisputably charming Longines Dolcevita which would look effortless on any woman's wrist.
Source: Longines
The Longines Dolcevita originally came to market in 1997, taking its name from the Italian translation for “sweet life”. Its Art Deco-inspired rectangular-shaped cases, available in stainless steel, rose gold, or two-toned, and scattered with Roman numeral-adorned displays spoke to tasteful men and women alike with a penchant for the roaring Twenties allure.
You know we like to keep you updated with all that’s new here at Chrono Hunter. And it doesn’t get much fresher than the Longines Mini Dolcevita. Brand new for 2023, this new sub-line of the Dolcevita collection delivers an almost entirely new look to the 1920’s timepiece, reducing the rectangular shape into more of a square and presenting new brick-like bracelets crafted from a total of 198 links.
Tiny but timeless, these 29mm x 21.5mm watches arrive in polished stainless steel with square profiles and classic circular displays. On the latter, you’ll find functions like hours, minutes and small seconds presented in rose gold on pastel-coloured backdrops of Blossom Pink, Serene Blue, Mint Green and Ivory White, or more classic silver-tone flinque dials adorned with blued hands. The designs come with or without diamonds on the bezels and house Swiss quartz movements.
Source: Longines
It seems it’s not just us mere mortals that admire the luxury Dolcevita either with Kate Winslet and Jennifer Lawrence choosing them too. In Longines’ latest campaign, Lawrence proves she has just as much talent shooting a bow and arrow in The Hunger Games as she does pulling off the Longines Dolcevita Mini. She looks particularly captivating and confident with the novelty boasting a silver flinque display with Roman numerals. We’re certain all women watch lovers would look and feel the same if they wore this around the table on Christmas Day.
RETAIL PRICE:
Buy a Longines Mini Dolcevita from £1,500 (As of November 2023)
