- Conclusion
With a strong history in aviation, sports timing and sponsoring events like the Kentucky Derby, Royal Ascot and Dubai World Cup, it’s time to discover our list of most popular Longines watches
Longines blend the rarity of high-class horology with effortless style.
While it doesn’t join the horological Mile high club, sitting among Holy Trinity members Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin, they have been running like clockwork since their inception in 1832.
Founded by Auguste Agassiz in Saint-Imer, Switzerland, the business would be taken over by nephew, Ernest Francillon and industrialised with new factories and production methods.
Holding the oldest trademark in watchmaking history, their infamous winged hourglass symbol was patented in 1889. The emblem is instantly recognisable by anyone worth their horological salt.
Confirming their slogan “Elegance is an Attitude”, the brand has been the timekeeper for the Formula One World Championship, the Archery World Cup and the Commonwealth Games.
Releasing the world’s fastest high frequency model in 1968, The Ultra-Chron Diver, it ran at 36,000VpH boasting the technical mastery of the watches. Furthermore, Longines invented the Lindbergh Hour Angle in collaboration with iconic pilot Charles Lindbergh.
He was the first man to fly non-stop from New York City to Paris which featured a bezel that used scales, including a sextant and almanack, to work out important facts like longitude and geographical location.
Longines is part of The Swatch Group.
This giant conglomerate contains other brands like Blancpain and Omega. Though you wouldn't think it, according to the latest Morgan Stanley Watch Report.

Just ask Hayek and his crew, who launched a scathing attack in an Open letter to Morgan Stanley Investment Management about its Research. Now, we could go on about their timekeeping prowess, though they don’t feature in the best luxury watch brands to hold value
But we know you hungry horophiles want to get into the meat of the top 12 most popular Longines watches. So, without further deliberation, let’s dive in, including covering performance, price and key features.
1. Longines Spirit Zulu Time 1925 (L3.803.5.53.6)
.jpg)
Marking its centenary in 2025, this is considered a fans favourite for best Longines by many enthusiasts. Step forward the Longines Spirit Zulu Time 1925 reference L3.803.5.53.6.
.jpg)
Produced in 1925 with the infamous Zulu flag emblazoned on the dial, symbolising universal time for aviators, this edition celebrates the brand’s long relationship with dual-time tracking, incorporating rose gold elements and a carefully constrained design language.
It features a balanced dial with bold Arabic numerals, luminous hands, and a clean layout that prioritizes legibility—an essential trait for travellers and aviators.
Beating at 25,200 Vph with around a 72 hour power reserve, inside is a precise automatic GMT movement that allows the wearer to track two time zones simultaneously.
With smooth functionality, the rotating bezel and GMT hand make it easy to read home time while the caseback showcases a sublime relief-engraved world map that’s enhanced with Arabesque style brushing.
The case is crafted from a three-link stainless steel bracelet, giving the watch both durability and elegance. Other highlights include an 18K rose gold bezel insert, adding warmth, alongside a 24 hour scale and sapphire display window.
Whilst it might not hold a candle to Jake Paul’s watch collection, the Longines Spirit Zulu Time 1925 represents the brand’s commitment to heritage, precision, and practical design, making it appealing for collectors and frequent travelers.
- You can buy a Longines Spirit Zulu Time 1925 at retail for £3,750 as of March 2026.
2. Longines Spirit Zulu Time 42mm
.jpg)
The Longines Spirit Zulu Time is a phenomenal branch of the already iconic aviation inspired legacy.
.jpg)
Taking inspiration from 1925, these are some of the most loved and best Longines watches on the market.
Take heed of the stunning dual time-zone pieces of the era. They tended to boast a Zulu flag on the dial. Zulu references “Z”, a letter used to summarise universal time in aviation.
This coding would’ve been used by well renowned aviators like Amy Johnson and Hugh Herndon when they were smashing records and crossing continents. But just how faithful is the Longines Spirit Zulu Time 42mm?
Measuring 42mm, it has been stripped back to a highly modern 39mm case size alternative. The watches undergo a brushed aesthetic with a rugged design and solid build. However, don’t feel it’s all too much rock’n’roll, as there is a little polishing on the sides and bevelling present on the lugs.
Providing 100 metres of water resistance, this is attained through a screw down crown and solid back.
Its aviation heritage is down to the gorgeous 24-hour GMT bezel. Kitted out with a chocolate brown ceramic insert, we thoroughly enjoy the contrast of the engraved, golden markers, serrated edge and prominent golden crown.
Given a deep, sandblasted anthracite dial colour, the golden accents of the model are boasted due to their prominence on the moody colour scheme.
Featuring golden Arabic numerals, the timepiece is projected from the brushy design of a sports watch to a highly versatile piece that’s just as comfortable in the boardroom or on a private boat.
Featuring Super-Luminova across the golden hour markers and hands, the Longines Spirit Zulu Time boasts 5 gold stars, relating to its COSC certification, the iconic winged logo below 12 o’clock and the Longines “ZULU TIME” reference above 6 o’clock. This is rounded off with a date aperture at 6 o’clock.
Powered by the L844.4, this COSC certified Longines model offers 72 hours of power reserve and boasts intelligent GMT functionality.
Available in a beautiful bracelet or a brown leather strap, we recommend this with a black suit and golden jewellery for special occasions, or tan leather jacket.
- You can buy a Longines Spirit Zulu Time at retail for £2,950 as of March 2026
3. Longines Hydroconquest GMT
.jpg)
So, we know that Longines are famed for their GMT functionality since 1925… but what about their storied dive watches?
They too are as epic as one of Jacques Cousteau’s plunges, testing storied novelties such as The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms during his hugely successful documentary, Silent World.
.jpg)
The Longines Hydroconquest GMT dive watch links up the aviation and diver world better than Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne.
Coming in at 41mm of pure 316L stainless steel, it is one of the best Longines watches of the moment. Now the model sizes up a sleek 12.9mm thickness which isn’t overly chunky considering watches like The Panerai Luminor Marina 44mm comes in at a hefty 15.65mm
Made up of more gentle curves than The Valley of Flowers in India, the diver design prides itself on both satin and polished finishes to boast the versatility of the piece. Given a screw down crown and solid back to ensure the water resistance of the watches, it is more than equipped with 300 metres of water resistance.
Given a ceramic bezel insert, the brand decides to veer away from classic 24 engravings like most GMT timepieces, instead opting for the dive piece style of 60 minute graduations.
Don’t worry, fellow travellers. The GMT scale is present on the flange and is as visible as the last Blue Moon. The dial is given a rich, brown dial face with a sunray finish to cast light across.
Featuring gilt yellow baton hour markers that resemble dive designs, it boasts a lollipop seconds hand and extra GMT hand with arrow tip. All are dosed with Super-Luminova to ensure visibility is paramount.
Powered by The L844.5 movement, it isn’t COSC certified, but still yields good stats like a beat of 3.5Hz and a weekend-proof power reserve of 72 hours. Powering GMT functions and offering 300 metres of water resistance is impressive but not on the scale of the Omega Ploprof 1200M or Deepsea Challenge.
Supported by a bracelet with a micro-adjusting clasp for quick alterations on the go, wear this piece when chatting with your buddies over cocktails, or watching the big game in your executive box.
- You can buy a Longines Hydroconquest at retail for £2,750 as of March 2026
4. Longines Spirit Flyback Chronograph
.jpg)
Introduced in 2023, The Longines Spirit Flyback Chronograph boasts the complicated flyback function.
Essentially, this allows for stop-reset-start functionality of the classic chronograph to be simplified with one pusher to fulfil all those features, allowing multiple calculations to be performed instantaneously.
.jpg)
The Longines Spirit Flyback Chronograph 42mm is composed of solid stainless steel. Given a height of 17mm, it’s rather tall so keep things simple with your sleeves or shirt cuffs rolled up.
Its height comes from the 60-minute scale and bi-directional bezel that features a beautiful blue ceramic insert. This allows the high contrast white markings to clearly stand out, especially since they are coated from Super-Luminova.
The bezel is rather unusual as it features the rest of the markers in negative relief. How bizarre!
Boasting brushing throughout aside from the polished bevels, the bulky crown screws down and the pushers on either side are just as prominent. Reaching depths of 100 metres, this aviation inspired piece is prime for the everyday wearer.

Featuring a blue dial that has a sun-ray aesthetic, it is given a flange with diamond markers. Featuring white, Super-Luminova infused Arabic numerals, the watches hands are tapered and thin and are similarly dosed with Super-Luminova.
Boasting two chronograph sub counters located at 3 and 9 o’clock, there is a typical 5 star emblem (COSC certified of course!) and “FLYBACK” text.
It is powered by the L791.4 calibre which is COSC certified and offers 28,800 VpH and a 68 hour power reserve. That gives you enough time to head to the South of France, soak up St. Tropez and be back at your desk first thing Monday morning.
Powering flyback functions and supported by a column wheel and silicon balance spring, this movement is hot horological property. Given either a bracelet with a triple safety clasp or blue leather strap, this beautiful novelty should be boasted with a navy suit or a grey leather jacket with a black polo shirt for casual events.
Launched in October 2023, they debuted the latest iteration of the Spirit Flyback collection…in titanium.
Crafted in a 42mm, grade 5 titanium case, the watches boast both brushed and polished finishes in order to attain a ruggedness and stylish beauty.
Featuring a bi-directional rotating bezel with black ceramic insert, and a sunray-brushed anthracite dial with luminous, gold-coloured Arabic numerals and hands, legibility is the order of the day.
Supported by a COSC certified L791.4 calibre, it runs at 28,800VpH and with a power reserve of around 68 hours.
- You can buy a Longines Spirit Flyback Chronograph at retail for £4,350, while the titanium version (L3.821.1.53.6) can be purchased for £5,000 as of March 2026
5. Longines Master Collection Small Seconds Pink
.jpg)
We know they have been around a long time.
But to really hammer home the age, let’s take a look at the spectacular 190th anniversary edition!
.jpg)
The Longines Master Collection is one of the brand’s classic dress watches that exudes endless curvature and beautiful dial finishes.
In celebration of 190 years of their formation, they released the collection in 2009. Now, they have blessed us with a small seconds variation. What a timely intervention.
Measuring 38.5mm x 10.2mm, it still fits under shirt cuffs. Crafted out of steel, it undergoes polishing throughout in order to boast the dress-like nature of the piece.
Negating the need for a sizable bezel like its diver and aviation brethren, it turns the bezel into a stylish slope for the flange to be enhanced. This is particularly exacerbated due to the domed sapphire crystal which contributes to the watches overall thickness.
The good stuff comes in the form of the dial.
The colour relates to an incredibly popular shade of pink named “salmon”, no reference to the dish or the animal! But we could certainly go for a bit of sushi any time now!
The colour has become increasingly popular over the years in watch circles, and has become one of the latest horological fashion trends. This is all the more so thanks to innovative brands like H.Moser & Cie who have adopted it with the Streamliner Centre Seconds.
Undergoing a prominent vertical brushing style that makes the dial look like a pricey mahogany wood, the silvered Arabic numerals are laser engraved but done in a style that resembles a hand finished aesthetic.
Stylish? Yes. Forward thinking? Well, that’s the brand for you, especially since this features a smooth small seconds sub counter at 6 o’clock.
Powered by the L893 movement, it is a true horological beast in sheep's clothing. As one of the reasons for the thickness, the movement offers a great 72 hour power reserve and an unorthodox 3.5Hz.
Visible though the sapphire back, keep your eyes peeled for various finishes on the bridges and rotor. Fitted with a sublime alligator leather strap with steel folding clasp, we picture this with a proud salmon suit shirt.
Or, take things down a notch with a grey suit jacket. Ensure the black alligator leather strap is on show!
- You can buy a Longines Master Collection Small Seconds Pink at retail for £2,350 as of March 2026
6. Longines Master Collection L2773.4.61.2
.jpg)
The Longines Master Collection is in effect their stylish brother to both the Spirit Zulu and Conquest collections.
.png)
So, just how stylish can these pieces be?
Well, Longines Master Collection reference L2.773.4.61.2 is one such example. Given the classic, circular dress piece finish, it is crafted out of stainless steel, sized at 42mm and has a lug distance of around 21mm.
Polished throughout, they follow a few trends with their Longines Master Collection, in particular, following the industry standard for dress watches such as choosing a polished aesthetic and negating sporty bezels or excessive water resistance.
Given a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, it is protected with many layers of anti-reflective coating on both sides to ensure legibility from the street lamps of London to the ambient lighting of your home office.
The dial is given an anthracite shading which allows for the dial's features to be enhanced due to its matte black darkness. Featuring pink hands and stylish, applied Roman numerals, it is surprisingly complicated…almost as much as the 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar.
Featuring a moonphase indication with 12 hours counter at 6 o’clock, a 30 minute counter with day and month display at 12 o’clock and a small seconds with 24 hours indicator at 9 o’clock, it doesn’t stop there.
They have expanded the date functionality by including an extra hand tipped with a half moon that runs around the periphery of the dial, alongside a date track.
Powered by the Calibre L687, the movement offers 28,800 VpH vibrations per hour and a solid 66 hour power reserve.
Adorned atop a grey alligator leather strap with a triple safety folding clasp, it is best seen with a black cashmere jumper or a navy tee if you’re feeling a little less dressy. The black leather strap has stylish alligator scales which gives you an understated soupcon of luxury.
- You can buy a Longines Master Collection L2.773.4.61.2 at retail for £3,600 as of March 2026
7. Longines Conquest Chronograph L3.835.4.32.6
.jpg)
The Longines Conquest collection was introduced in 1954, at the time when Elvis Presley started his music legacy, and the fight against polio commenced.
But wait a second. What you are about to lap up is more exciting than med school.
.jpg)
Following on from the diver watch craze of the era, the watches prided themselves on legibility and solid backs, adorned with emblems.
In later editions, the Conquest diver followed its Hydroconquest brethren in a more elegant styling, but still with the capability of hitting 300 metres of water resistance for those intrepid explorers or deep sea divers among us.
The collection has drastically changed since those days, including water resistance stats. The Longines Conquest Chronograph L3.835.4.32.6 has brought the Conquest from out of Longines’ bottom drawers and got the collection back to its rightful place as a well respected line.
Coming in at 42mm of steel, it is rather thick at 14.3mm. Of course, the movement still retains a strong impact on this due to the complexity of the functions.
We’ll get to that in good time!
Polished and brushed, the case boasts a screw down crown and secured case back in order to deliver 100 metres of water resistance. It features a fixed, black bezel that is intentionally high contrast to the face.
Given a ceramic insert and tachymetric scale, it adds an extra degree of complexity while solidifying its position as a rough and ready sporty timepiece.
For the dial, Longines have opted for a champagne colour, a sheen which is incredibly unusual for a sporty timepiece. Given applied baton markers in a similar hue, the face features three, black chronograph sub counters in the standard positioning of 3, 6 and 9 o’clock.
The markers and tapered hands are dosed with Super-Luminova. It looks rather like a Rolex Daytona with its chronograph sub counters and sporty pushers on either side of the serrated crown. No criticism there!
It is powered by the L898.5 Calibre which allows the movement to be accessible through the sapphire back, offering 28,800 VpH and a 59 hour power reserve. Sure, this is a piece that can last for those 2 day vacations to Europe…and back.
Fixed with a bracelet, we recommend you pair this with a blue and white suit shirt, or black leather jacket, if you are feeling more rebellious than corporate. The bracelet is therefore no laughing matter for the urban gent!
- You can buy a Longines Conquest Chronograph L3.835.4.32.6 at retail for £3,650 as of March 2026
8. Longines Flagship Heritage Moonphase

The Longines Flagship Heritage collection is primed for an update but is now revamped with a delightful moonphase complication.
Debuted in 1957, just a minute…wasn’t that the same year as the legendary Speedmaster? You’d be right.
Taking influence from the past and dressing them up with modern upgrades, Longines have decided to follow through with the Flagship Heritage collection by including a moonphase complication, with a mission to get it as refined as possible.
Coming in at 38.5mm of steel, it is significantly less thicker than its timekeeping buddies like The Panerai PAM01347 Radiomir Otto Giorni which comes in at 45mm.
Polished along the top, including the fixed bezel and chamfered lugs, Longines decided to add brushed finishes to the case sides.
Ergonomic and dressy, this is as inviting as your favourite leather armchair or brand new Porsche! Given a sapphire crystal that’s got anti-reflective coating on both sides, visibility should never be a problem with this best Longines.
It is adorned with a screw down back. Now, this isn’t for water resistance purposes as the dismal 30 metres rating will confirm, but actually an aesthetic choice.
That's because the back features a yellow gold insert of a ship on the rocking waves. As an ode to the “Flagship” collection, this is about as good a golden reference as any!
If you manage to stop staring at the caseback, we recommend casting your eyes at the stunning dia. Given an opaline sheen, we have a penchant for the creamy colouring which is thick enough to turn into yoghurt or dolloped on some strawberries at Wimbledon.
Served up together with applied, triangular hour markers and a gilt finish, the watches feature polished Dauphine hands and the all important moon phase indication at 6 o’clock. Given touches of Super-Luminova to enhance the legibility of the piece, the dial is instantly readable in all conditions.
Powered by the L899.5 calibre, the movement runs at 25,200 VpH and offers an excellent power reserve of 72 hours. Supported with a silicon balance spring, the movement runs the hours, minutes and seconds, as well as the moonphase complication.
Fitted with a brown alligator leather strap, we recommend you wear this with a grey jumper or white knitted suit jacket. Given a leather strap, this beautiful brown material looks immense on any wrist!
- You can buy a Longines Flagship Heritage at retail for £2,950 as of March 2026
9. Longines Ultra-Chron L2.836.4.52.2
.jpg)
The history behind The Longines Ultra-Chron is more riddled than the Riddler’s relationship with Batman.
.jpg)
Released in 1968, it swiftly became one of the most important and best Longines watches in the horological world. This is due to its incredible ability to reach the status of the elusive term “High Frequency”.
Originally coined the Longines Calibre 360, only 200 movements were released in stopwatches, and just a single one in a wristwatch. Capable of beating at 5Hz or 36,000 VpH, the piece won the Observatory of Neuchâtel competition.
Then released to the public in wristwatch form in 1966, this move represented Longines’ position as the first brand to create a high-frequency wristwatch, released for public consumption.
Longines re-released this in 2022 with a few design upgrades, but with the proud movement still hitting its big numbers. With visual cues to the 1968 timepiece, it follows the barrel shaping, but makes it more accessible with a steely 43mm diameter and 13.6mm case height.
Following the dive design Longines have opted for, it features a unidirectional bezel with a luminous 60 minute track. It is made up of 15, 30, 45 and a triangle with white numerical markings while the rest of the markers come in red rectangular markers.
Displayed upon a sapphire insert, it deviates from the classical bakelite insert. No problem with us, sapphire is incredibly durable which preserves the longevity of, for many, some of the best Longines watches the brand has created.
Utilising a screw down crown and caseback, there’s no mistaking the reasons behind the 300 metre water resistance.
Given a black dial face with a grainy finish, they feature rectangular hour markers as well as old school hour and minute hands, particularly the bright red lacquered minute hand. Can’t miss that one, Timelords!
Powered by the L836.6 calibre, the movement features a silicon hairspring and the movement is COSC certified. Considering the original movement wasn't chronometer certified, it’s nice to see the brand ensuring the movement gets as much recognition as possible.
Offering a 52 hour power reserve and an incredible 36,000VpH, the movements are prime for technical lovers and connoisseurs…especially with a heritage as strong as the Ultra-Chron.
Adorned with a brown leather strap, this isn’t really a piece for the office due to its size. However, if you roll your cream shirt sleeves up, you could pull this off.
Just make sure it isn’t winter outside! The rugged leather strap is a strong opposition to a bracelet, and an excellent choice for the modern gent who’s ready for a night out on the town.
We recommend a navy blue cashmere jumper for this piece or something with big sleeves like a camel coloured leather jacket.
- You can buy a Longines Ultra-Chron at retail for £3,450 as of March 2026
10. Longines Hydroconquest L3.780.4.56.6
.jpg)
The Longines Hydroconquest is a big player in the diver watch world.
We mean that only figuratively but is on par with respected dive watches to match the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms. Nope we didn’t mention anything about the Blancpain Scuba Fifty Fathoms Scuba.
.jpg)
Crafted out of steel, this is a real contender for best Longines, with a very modern 39mm “Goldilocks” case.
Considering this model has the ability to reach 300 metres of water resistance, the watches are figureheads, along with others such as the much hyped Tudor Pelagos… modern dive watches, capable of being worn as an everyday driver.
Given a rounded case shape, it has a lug to lug distance of 19mm and a surprising thickness of 12.20mm, given that it is an out and out dive timepiece. It is rounded off with a scratch resistant sapphire crystal that has anti-reflective coatings on either side.
Secured with a screw-in crown and screw-in caseback there’s no chance of water or dust getting in and harming your precious Longines mechanism.
Fitted with a unidirectional rotating bezel, it is made up of a 60 minute scale and a luminous dot at 12 o’clock to allow for quick measurements. Given a serrated edge, like a pancake, it can quickly be flipped easily.
The dial is black and features a sun-ray finish which allows light to be cast across the dial and enhance different aspects of its face. Given applied Arabic numerals and indexes, the Arabic numerals make up 12, 6 and 9 o’clock and are intentionally enlarged to boast first rate legibility.
The rest of the markers are made up of luminous dots that are coated with Swiss Super-Luminova. The hands are silvered and undergo polishing to enhance their readability. The hour hand is given a snowflake design, made up of a triangle near its tip that’s filled with lume.
Powered by the L888 calibre, the Hydroconquest runs the hours, minutes, seconds and date aperture based at 3 o’clock. Meanwhile, the self-winding mechanical movement offers a hardy frequency of 25,200 VpH and a power reserve of 72 hours.
Attached to a bracelet, we recommend this piece be worn for the beach house in Cuba, or when you’re up close to the horses at the Kentucky Derby in your tweed jacket, sipping on expensive bourbon.
And we’ll definitely drink to that!
- You can buy a Longines Hydroconquest at retail for £1,700 as of March 2026
11. Longines Spirit Avigation BigEye
.jpg)
The Longines Spirit Avigation BigEye is a direct link to the aviation watches of the past.
First appearing in the 1930’s, the actual history behind the original release of the Avigation BigEye is as uncertain as a Prince Andrew interview.
What we do know is that it has a very distinct sub counter situated at 3 o'clock and is larger than the others, lending to the notorious “BigEye” title.
The Longines Spirit Avigation BigEye in the modern era still takes notable design cues of the past, with a generous dose of modernity.
Doing away with classical steel material, they have opted here for an upgrade, going with the decidedly improved Grade 5 titanium case. Measuring 41mm x14.5mm, what did we expect with a piece that pulls in so many complications to rival an A. Lange & Sohne Zeitwerk.
Crafted with a solid caseback and a durable sapphire crystal, they are built with immense toughness in mind. The solid caseback may not be a prime defender against water, as it only has a 30 metre water resistance.
Nonetheless, it does however have a very elegant emblem of a plane with “LONGINES” written from wing to wing. Onto the dial, and we hope you gearheads are locked in tight!
Featuring a petroleum dial with black hands and Super-Luminova painted Arabic numerals, the hands are pitch black in order to boast the top notch legibility. The dial similarly features three black sub counters positioned at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock.
Home to the L688 calibre, it runs the hours, minutes and small seconds at 9 o’clock. Meanwhile, the movement is responsible for the oversized 30-minutes counter at 3 o’clock and 12 hour counter at 6 o’clock.
Offering 28,800VpH and a 66 hour power reserve, the movement is suitable for the weekend warriors who don’t want to risk losing such a beloved piece!
Fitted with a brown leather strap as a stylish alternative to a bracelet, looking good has never been so easy. Match the dial with a petroleum suit shirt, or go full racing mode with a suede, tan jacket.
- You can buy a Longines Spirit Avigation BigEye at retail for £3,800 as of March 2026
12. Longines Spirit Pioneer Edition
.jpg)
The Spirit collection is Longines' ode to the heritage of the brand, boasting a number of old school aviation watches with modern flashes.
Is there anything more de rigeur than a titanium timepiece? Maybe a bracelet too, but we won’t complain…
.jpg)
What started as a titanium model, eventually evolved in 2022 to a titanium build.
Maintaining the same 42mm case size, they are rather bulky on the wrist at 16.5mm. However, the brand counteracted this by employing the titanium material. After all, this is both more durable and lighter than its steely counterpart.
Longines utilises a polished finish throughout the case, deviating away from classic rugged finesse. Cemented in with a sapphire crystal and given a screw-in crown and caseback, it is capable of reaching 100 metres of water resistance.
Though like many timepieces of this nature, we wouldn’t look to go any further or perform dive bombs any time soon.
The Longines Spirit Pioneer used to have a date changer pusher on the left of the case. However, no date means no pusher, which we think makes it more refined and form fitting on the wrist.
The dial’s sheen is as minimalist as some of the recent flurries from H. Moser & Cie. Opting for a matte black finish, this allows the rest of the dial to radiate like red carpet night at the Oscars or Grammys.
Made up of applied Arabic numerals and arrowed hands that are coated in Super-Luminova, the flange is accompanied by small, diamond-shaped markers that light up.
Featuring three sub counters at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock, this chronograph watch releases the date display, allowing for the face to be more open. Powered by Calibre L688.4, it is based on the previously imported Valjoux movement.
Yet, this in-house Longines movement is perfect for this timepiece. This is primarily because of the 66-hour power reserve, while the movement’s COSC certification is noted by the 5 stars above 6 o’clock on the dial's face.
Strapped in with a black synthetic strap with green stitching, we think these are some of the best Longines watches to look the part with a grey jumper, or sky blue sleeve shirt.
- You can buy a Longines Spirit Pioneer Edition at retail for £3,850 as of March 2026.
