A fresh new year has emerged and Santa’s sack has long gone up the chimney for another 12 months. Oh woe betide. 

But don’t despair as we have a horological sackful of incredible treats, latest natterings and hottest gossip to keep you on your toes via our Chronicles page.

And what better way to kick off awards season with our review of the best watches spotted at the 83rd Golden Globes 2026. 

But first, a recap of what happened on the night. 

 

Golden Globes 2026 Winners

Whether it was Leo Dicaprio looking to win best meme of the night, Adolescence capturing the limelight, with Stephen Graham picking up a gong for Best Actor in a limited series, we saw many shows come to the fore. 

Hamnet, based on the domestic goings on of William Shakespeare scooped six awards while One Battle After Another took home four.

For the Golden Globes 2026, the horological heat was turned up on the red carpet by stars like Monster actor Charlie Humnam who sported a Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds with black dial. 

As did Adam Brody…but in the 18k pink gold edition. Did they syncronise timepieces? Yet time moves on as they say.

2. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson - Chopard Alpine Eagle (Frozen Summit)

Forget Vanilla Ice for this next watch at the Golden Globes 2026. 

 

As cold as well…ice, The WWE “Final Boss” and Jumanji actor Dwayne Johnson decided to level up his novelty this year. By some distance. We’re not talking about his bespoke Purple label tux by Ralph Lauren.

It helps if you are a brand ambassador. 

 

For “Euphoria” actor Colman Domingo, previous history tells us his horological choice is Omega. 

And that was true to form at the 83rd Golden Globes where he not only took on the mantle of presenter, but pulled off a sophisticated yet glitzy 38mm Speedmaster with diamond-paved bezel.

4.  Michael B. Jordan -  Patek Philippe “Hour Glass” (Ref. 1593P)

Our next best watch we gawped at during the Golden Globes 2026 was a real slam dunk. 

The Shaq of executions from the stable of Thierry Stern, this well chosen Patek Philippe was spotted on the wrist of Sinners actor Michael B. Jordan.

 

Quiet luxury was a trend this year, especially this model that’s brimming with more history than the Battle of 1066. 

First launched in 1944, Ref. 1593 was produced for over two decades, roughly into the late 1960s. It is now regarded as a classic among vintage Patek Philippe watches.

Featuring a curved rectangular case and beveled crystal, these are highly collectible pieces and shows a keen eye for watchmaking. Not as rare as the stainless steel ref. 1518 but it fetches a pretty penny at auction. 

Ref. 1593 is celebrated for its harmonious blend of Art-Deco influences and mid-century aesthetics, making it a standout among vintage Patek Philippe dress watches.

5. Paul Mescal - Cartier Tortue (1984 model)

Let’s turn back the clock a second…to 1984. What world events were going on at the time?

The Apple Macintosh was launched. The UK miner’s strike took place and Bruce Springsteen released “Born In The USA”

 

Well this watch from the Golden Globes 2026 was made for glamour. A sense of timelessness swept across the red carpet by way of Paul Mescal wearing a sleek Cartier Tortue from the mid-80s. 

Rising to international fame for his role as Connell Waldron in the TV series Normal People, he’s a brand ambassador bar none. But don’t let that detract from the stylish wrist appeal he brought to this year’s awards ceremony.

7. Glen Powell - 38 mm OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra Moonshine™ Gold (Ref. 220.50.38.20.03.001)

Another celeb, another Omega at the Golden Globes 2026.

8. Leonardo DiCaprio - Rolex Daytona Ref. 126529LN (“Le Mans”)

The former Wolf of Wall Street actor made a Titanic impression this year with one of the most sought after watches from the stable of Hans Wilsdorf. 

 

Now discontinued, Leo was spotted wearing the Rolex Daytona Ref. 126529LN, otherwise known as “Le Mans”. Launched in 2023, with an incredibly short production run, it marked the centenary of the infamous 24 Hours of Le Mans motorsport event. 

And it created more of an internet sensation than Say The Word On The Beat game

With prices surpassing £150,000 at the time of writing, why is this timepiece burning up the horological sphere? There’s an exhibition caseback, bold silver subdials, a distinctive red "100" on the bezel, display caseback and not forgetting the white gold case. 

Measuring 40mm in diameter with a thickness of 12mm, it’s everything a collector could lust after in a Rolex Daytona. Grail-worthy? You bet.

9. Oscar Isaac - Bvlgari Octo Finissimo (Ref. 102912)

Globally recognized through blockbuster roles, including Poe Dameron in the Star Wars sequel trilogy and Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse (2016), it was more a case of the X Factor for Oscar Isaac…especially the watch he wore at the Golden Globes 2026.

10. Timothée Chalamet - Urban Jürgensen UJ-2

The surprise of the night was not that Willy Wonka actor Timothée Chalamet took away an award for Marty Supreme in the category for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy.

 

No, something more exciting than that took place at the Golden Globes 2026. The wrist check. The Cartier fan boy went up to connoisseur level thanks to his choice of watch, the Urban Jürgensen UJ-2, complete with double-wheel natural escapement.

Golden Globes 2025 Winners

The 82nd Golden Globes was another example of celebrity iconography, how suits and dresses should be flaunted.

Of course this goes hand in hand with the importance of high-quality wristwear for the world to pursue that scores three points on every basketball court, every single time.

Taking place on January 5th 2025, hosted at the grand Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. We saw TV and film’s greatest stars moving away from the big screen and living it up in the OTT world of A-list celebrity glamour.

The 37.5mm x 10.2mm dimensions are built into a solid 18K white gold case. Polished, stylish, yet easily the most low-key precious metal compared to yellow gold and rose gold, they decide to glam things up with a sea of diamonds. 

Totalling 2.26 carats, or 548 round cut diamonds, they are present across the majority of the timepiece, including the circular bezel, lugs and the dial face. 

The face is silver-toned, albeit impossible to see under the dial, but there are strong distinctions spotted via the complications.

This includes a small seconds counter at 6 o’clock, with a diamond ring instead of markers, moonphase indicator at 9 o’clock and a power reserve function, residing between 10 and 11 o’clock. 

Given dark blue backgrounds, general timekeeping is quite easy to read via the polished baton hour markers and sword shaped hands in the centre.

Keeping time is the 1410 AS manual-wind calibre. Totalling 175 components, this produces a 38 hour power reserve alongside a steady 28,800VpH, all certified with a Hallmark of Geneva. 

Strapped to a navy blue leather strap, Goldblum’s eye-catching outfit is remarkably well put-together, especially since he blends his suit jacket with basic black suit trousers and polished black shoes. Simplicity is the most complex thing of all!

3. Jack Lowden - Omega De Ville Trésor 18K Sedna Gold - 435.53.40.21.06.001

Next up on our best watches at the 82nd Golden Globes is none other than 34 year old Jack Lowden.

Now this chap is only starting his career. The Scotsman has picked up a few awards so far, including Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Ghosts, and the Ian Charleson Award in 2013 for his role as Oswald in the film’s namesake.

Earning a few nominations for his role in the TV Series Slow Horses, he received them in the BAFTA TV Awards for Best Supporting Actor, Emmys Outstanding Supporting Actor and for the famous Golden Globes, Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role on Television for his role as River Cartwright in the same TV Series.

Coated with SuperLuminova, the watches are exceptionally legible and offer the user the best of the dress and everyday industries.

Furthermore, we have a functional date aperture at 6 o’clock, alongside a handy AM and PM reader at 9 o’clock. To refer to the second time zone, simply look to the red filled triangular hand in the centre of the dial.

The Moana 2 star may have only turned up to the event for free drinks and socialisation, but horophiles were quick to choose him out from the flock due to his exceptional IWC Portugieser Eternal Calendar IW505701, the very same model released at Watches and Wonders 2024.

Presenting Best Supporting Male with Ariana DeBose, Ke Huy Quan didn’t get any nominations this time round. Then again, he did win Best Supporting Actor in 2022 for his role in Everything Everywhere All At Once. Can’t have everything we suppose…

They give us a little flourish by incorporating rose gold hour markers, making them stand out and offer a jolt of colour to the watches.

Accompanied with a date aperture at 6 o’clock, they ooze accuracy, speed and a plethora of useful functions. Therefore, we have no strife or grief to lay at the door of the 52011 calibre.

Ooo gossip! We are not referring to the trouble and strife of course but Matt Rife, who allegedly kissed Kate Beckinsale at the Golden Globes 2025 after-party.
