LeBron James Watches Are A Slam Dunk For Any Keen Horophile
Welcome back, Timelords! Today, our sole focus is on LeBron James, the very same gentleman who claimed Ohio Mr Basketball in 2001 and NBA Rookie of the year Award in 2004. And these are just a few of the awards we’ll mention!
Born in Ohio, LeBron James has swiftly established himself as one of the most critically acclaimed players in the NBA. Known by his title “King James”, he is widely considered one of the most influential and significant players in NBA and sports history.
That’s all good, but horophiles may have another reason for watching this guy out and about in his everyday professional and celebrity life!
He’s developed quite a timekeeping portfolio over the years to feature some of the most expensive watches you get your mitts on. A diverse portfolio, befitting of any discerning gent, any chap that owns the jewelled up Rolex Daytona ``Eye of the Tiger” is certainly a King among men
How can he afford such luxuries? His career as a power forward for teams like Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers, has allowed him to collect a slew of top awards that wouldn’t look out of place at the Emmys or Golden Globes. This includes 4 NBA championships, 4 NBA Finals MVP, 20 time NBA All Star player and a 4 time NBA Most Valuable Player. Like the Rolex Daytona, his success is off the charts…
So, he’s tallied up a reputation as a top basketball player, but his novelty collection is certainly not far behind. That’s why Chrono Hunter is here to reveal LeBron James watches and what exactly is in his collection. Expensive as the latest Porsche, it’s beautiful, sleek and it’s probably out of 99.99% of the global population's price bracket.
We aren’t understating the expansive wealth of his collection. With an estimated value of around £4.7 million, LeBron James watches have everything from the rare to the downright luxurious!
So, pour yourself a drink and step away from that spreadsheet for a second. It’s time to find out the best watches in this Ohio born ballers collection.
There’s no need for any travelling or turnovers here!

When the Royal Oak Black Panther was launched in 2021, it acted as the harbinger for the future Concept Tourbillon Spider-Man that was released in 2023.
Representing the summation of an exciting collaboration between Audemars Piguet and Marvel, the Black Panther timepiece is one of the most exciting and revolutionary facets of the grand line.
Sure, we’ve seen collaborations before, like Hublot Big Bang UNICO Nespresso or the Classic Fusion UEFA, but the level of detail and quality behind this timepiece is a gamechanger. We suppose that explains why LeBron James was so attracted to this purple beauty.
Measuring 42mm x 14.6mm, the watches are certainly not small. We respect Audemars Piguet for going against the small-watch grain and producing a statement piece for those Marvel lovers.
Using titanium, it undergoes a sandblasted finish for that grainy, high quality finish. The classic Royal Oak elements remain, including the octagonal bezel and integrated bracelet. Meanwhile, the outer ring is secured with 8 screws and has a vertical brushed finish, while the strap is made from a purple rubber that will no doubt pop on the wrist.
Down to the devilish details. The dial is an extraordinary take on the Black Panther icon. Surrounding the carefully displayed “crushed-rock” background, there is a purple inner scale, showcasing the main hour markers in a sporty, Arabic numeral font.
The hands are short and sweet, and are filled with lume offering optimal legibility. The Black Panther figurine is the tour de force of this watch. Crafted out of white gold and completely hand painted. On top, we must give kudos to the 3D figure that showcases everything that characterises the Black Panther character such as the black ensemble and clawed hands.
At 6 o’clock, there is a customised tourbillon that not only counters the perilous effects of gravity on accuracy, but is emblazoned with a large AP logo in its centre. Capable of providing 50 metres of water resistance, we recommend you keep this beauty for your big business meetups or that nerdy Marvel convention!
Within the watches beats the phenomenal Calibre 2965. This entitles users to a weekend-proof 72 hour power reserve and 21,600VpH frequency, all encased within a 3.9mm thick calibre.

The great LeBron James has become so revered and significant in the sporting and cultural world, that in 2013, he was kitted out with his very own Royal Oak Offshore.
Source - Christie’s
During the period when LeBron James was signed on as a brand ambassador, the pair worked in conjunction to produce a watch specifically designed and influenced for him. The resulting piece is a versatile model that reflects the basketballers tremendous sense of style and penchant for luxury!
Launched in 1993, the Offshore is a reimagination of the glorious Royal Oak, including the fabulous design codes of the octagonal bezel and integrated bracelet..but with a few of its own distinguishing features like oversized crown guards and prominent crown. The black ceramic chronograph pushers are diamond-set, in keeping with the expert craftsmanship of the timepieces.
To mark the twentieth anniversary of this distinguished line, Audemars Piguet released the collaborative timepiece with the NBA legend. This incorporated design codes being identified as having an unusual colour scheme that can be worn with formal and informal outfits.
Crafted in an 18K pink gold case and fitted with an encompassing titanium bezel, the contrasting silver and pink colours are quite dramatic, but in keeping with the unique design LeBron James was looking for. What a baller.
It comes with an equally grey Tapisserie dial, imitating a checkerboard style finish. Mind you, it’s perfect for showing off over a game of chess at that private gentlemen’s club isn’t it? There are pink gold Arabic numerals that stand out, alongside the date aperture at 3 o’clock with silvery triple chronograph subdials at 12, 6 and 9 o’clock.
Affixed onto an AP rubber strap with 18K rose gold buckle, we like the straps that are locked around the wrist. Powered by the calibre 3126/3840, the LeBron James inspired model runs at 21,600VpH, while the movement produces a 60 hour power reserve.

The Royal Oak Jumbo 50th Anniversary 16202BA is a grand celebration of the fabulous line. Half a century is a very special occasion in terms of horological birthdays. Indicating longevity and consistent quality, we can easily link them with the beautiful line.
And the horological hits keep on coming as far as LeBron James watches are concerned. The Jumbo 50th Anniversary reference 16202BA is a top watch for a man who spends most of his time celebrating on and off the court!
It takes the dimensions of the classic collection and bolsters them with an incredible amount of luxury. Measuring 39mm x 8.1mm, the watches have around 50 metres of water resistance. Not ideal for diving, but enough for washing your hands and a very brisk shower.
Crafted out of 18K yellow gold, the models are inherently very luxurious. Undergoing a vertical brushed finish along the lugs and integrated bracelet, the timepieces are investment worthy due to their yellow gold craftsmanship.
For the dial, the golden glory continues. It’s smoked finish, totalling a golden centre and black periphery is complemented with a beautiful Petite Tapisserie pattern. This drops the size of the “cubes” on the Grand Tapesserie, and instead provides a sleeker finish.
The hour markers are slender batons, and feature a strip of luminescence through their centre. This applies to the equally slender hands. Within the might of the precious metal models is the Calibre 7121. Running hours, minutes and date functions, the models yield a 52 hour power reserve and pulsate at 28,800VpH or 4Hz.
Considering this is all within a 3.2mm thick movement, this is remarkably powerful. Creds to AP on this one.

This Perpetual Blue Ceramic reference 26579CS represents a first for AP. We won’t say why just yet…
The Perpetual Blue Ceramic 26579CS represents the first time the brand used blue ceramic in their models. We mean both the case and the integrated bracelet. This blue theme is revolutionary for watchmaking, and makes Elvis Presley’s blue suede shoes seem quite cheap. However, it’s not quite bordering on Smurf levels.
With a case diameter of 41mm and a thickness of 9.5mm it is by all means a wide watch, but one that's not overly thick and easy to pull off on the wrist. For its slender beauty, compromises must be made. In this case, it’s a fairly poor 20 metres of water resistance.
Circling the gorgeous cobalt blue dial is an octagonal bezel in blue ceramic. This prominent design is timeless and will forever be a statement that you are in possession of one of the greatest collections in horology. Don’t worry, Patek Philippe Nautilus. We’ll get to you in a tick!
For the dial, the blue theme continues, including a Grande Tapisserie pattern. This is made up of black squares with blue edging, allowing the blue counters to be promoted, alongside the white gold applied hour markers and hands that are equally coated in luminescence.
Along the rim of the watches is a blue inner scale. For the sub-counters, they relate to a date counter residing at 3 o’clock, moon-phase indication at 6 o’clock, day function at 9 o’clock and a leap year and month counter at 12 o’clock.
Within the models is the hardy Calibre 5134. This exceptional, self winding movement has a 40 hour power reserve alongside an unorthodox 19,800VpH.

For those who don’t know, Tiffany & Co is a New York jeweller that has become a brand name associated with the rich and famous.
At one point in history, back in the 1950s to be precise, Tiffany and Rolex joined forces in what would swiftly become a collaborative force of nature. The deal consisted of some of their watches, ranging from the GMT-Master to the Submariner, featuring the legendary Tiffany & Co stamp.
However, the hay-day swiftly came to a close during the 1990s when they decided to stop releasing the collaborative models. Demand exploded and exclusivity became even tighter than one of Hov’s after parties, resulting in the Tiffany models becoming highly desirable.
Only stars like Kendrick Lemar can get their hands on such timepieces. In fact, we spotted him waltzing down the 2023 Grammys with a Tiffany Rolex Oyster Perpetual on his wrist. All is fair in love and watches as they say.
But this time, they have decided to carve their own path. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36mm 126000 Turquoise features a very similar reincarnation of the Tiffany blue dial. But it isn’t the exact shade. Who knew the watch world could be so petty…
The Oyster Perpetual 36mm 126000 is crafted out of their patented Oyster Steel material. This variant of 904L ensures these timepieces remain durable, reliable and virtually scratch proof.
For the dial, they created a very vivid colour for this Oyster Perpetual. Designed using lacquer, the process is conducted in-house to ensure optimal quality. The brass plate takes on six layers of lacquer, wherein it’s then varnished and polished to promote the depth of the turquoise colour. Again, not Tiffany!
The baton hour markers are given a lume filled centre alongside the hands for optimal legibility. Skipping away within the models is the 3230 calibre, providing Superlative Chronometer certification, -2/+2 seconds per day accuracy and 70 hour power reserve. Although some might say it’s an entry-level price for a luxury novelty, it is a nice addition to the LeBron James watch collection.
So, how about grabbing some Breakfast At Tiffany’s?

The Day-Date 228396TBR is a highly exclusive timepiece that is riddled with Eastern charm. Just don’t tell Batman
Source - Christie’s
But first, a little history lesson. The Day-Date is a tremendous force within the Genevan brands ranks. Originally released in 1956, it represented the very first collection to show the date and the day spelled out in full.
So, breaking the norm has become a staple of their catalogue. Yet why is the Day-Date 228396TBR Arabic an entrancing timepiece? The answer? Being on the wrists of legends like LeBron James and NFL legend Tom Brady of course who has made this into the holiest of grail watches!
The Day-Date is typically associated with a strong variety of precious metals, including yellow and Everose gold. However, platinum is more desirable due to its uncommon status in horology, and the sublime lustre it provides when thoroughly polished.
In fact, the 40mm timepiece uses platinum, entitling it to become one of the very few collections that use the material, alongside the Cosmograph Daytona and the Perpetual 1908. Another feature that bolsters the luxury of the Day-Date 228396TBR Arabic is the stunning diamond bezel.
They ensure to only use the finest gem-setting techniques and craftsmen in order to achieve their level of excellence. They hand carved the platinum in order to create a space for the diamonds to be pressed into. The diamonds are carefully selected by the Genevan brand to ensure their similar proportions and sparkling qualities are all aligned and equal.
They use a highly attractive Arabic dial for this timepiece. They have a history with such designs, running as far back as the 1950s to suit the burgeoning popularity of the brand in the Middle East. The Day-Date 40mm Arabic dial was subsequently brought to the forefront in 2016.
Given an ice blue dial, reserved solely for platinum Rolexes, the dials even boast an Arabic calendar and numerals to keep in line with the Eastern theme. Secured with the illustrious President bracelet, the timepieces are definitely ones to watch out for, if you are interested in gorgeous horology, or looking for your next investment piece.

Risin' up, back on the street, did my time, took my chances. Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet, just a man and his will to survive. Ah, the chosen words of Survivor from the smash hit 1982 single. You know where we are going next when discussing LeBron James watches.
The Rolex Daytona Eye of the Tiger is a mesmerising model. Sure, it may prove a little ostentatious, but that would explain why stars like UFC icon, Conor McGregor, football legend Neymar Jr and grime artist, Stormzy all choose to flex the jewelled up beauty.
Source - Christie’s
With more ice than a well stocked freezer full of chateaubriand and corn fed chicken, it was released at Baselworld 2019. Soon after, the chronograph timepiece became an instant hit, because it represented a different side to the staunchly sporty Daytona. Away with the racing edge for a minute…let’s bring in a dose of sublime luxury!
Coming in a 40mm yellow gold case, the timepieces are by default, a classic Daytona. Its highly addictive design features the dual pusher look with a crown between them, sloped lugs and barrel shape case.
The first hint of glamour (aside from the yellow gold casing) and excess lies on the bezel. Totalling 36 trapeze cut diamonds, we unfortunately do not have the classic tachymetric scale for measuring speed. Then again, we do have 36 stunning jewels and impactful chronograph functionality!
Once you get past the outer ring, we suggest you take a deep breath before looking at the fabulous dial.
Given a golden chronograph dial face, the luxurious shade is counteracted with segments of black lacquer. This contrast earns the “Eye of the Tiger” nickname due to its stripe-like pattern imitating the animal's instantly recognisable pattern… unless we are missing a Survivor reference!
For the golden segments, they are given a glimmer by having around 243 diamonds set into the material. For the hour markers, they are crafted with a total of 8 diamonds set in yellow gold, while 15, 30 and 45 are golden Arabic numerals.
Fitted with the same triple chronograph counters at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock as the original Daytona models, within the watches, you will find the same high powered calibre 4130, yielding a 72 hour power reserve and 28,800VpH (4 Hz).

It’s thirsty work finding out everything you need to know about LeBron James watches. If you don’t have a hankering for a Pepsi, may we steer you towards The GMT-Master II 126720VTNR…otherwise known as the Sprite.
It has become a highly sought after watch due to its inherent link to the famed Sprite soft drink and left-handed crown. For the man who was actually featured on a Sprite advertisement back in 2016, he couldn’t get a more apt timepiece!
Brimming with more history than the Battle of Hastings, The GMT-Master II has a rich tapestry of its own. Stretching back to the 1950s when PAN AM spearheaded the dawn of transcontinental flight, they approached the airline for a watch that the pilots could use for changing time zones. The end product was the wanderlust inspiring GMT-Master.
The fans love a good nickname. In fact, you can check out our riveting article here that covers all the key nicknames associated with the Swiss titans:
For the GMT-Master II 126720VTNR, it comes in a 40mm case diameter and offers 100 metres of water resistance, provided by the screw-down crown with Triplock security and solid caseback. Built out of Oyster Steel, this is their patented material that provides optimal durability and a stunning finish when brushed and polished.
Where’s the crown? This is their James Cameron titanic left-handed timepiece that equally features a date aperture based at 9 o’clock as opposed to 3. Who knew LeBron James was so good on his left…
Along the tops is the bi-directional 24-hour graduated scale. This is split into both green and black via the Cerachrom insert and features moulded numerals and graduations to read the 24 hour scale.
This works in conjunction with the green GMT hand to allow users to read multiple time zones. The black dial allows the white dot and baton hour markers to be clearly displayed, especially since they are filled with lume, enhancing their visibility at night.
Within is the heart of a champion in the form of Calibre 3285. This is supported by their patented innovations like the Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers, providing a 70 hour power reserve and -2/+2 seconds per day precision. Be it an important morning meeting or last minute weekend getaway, this powerhouse will not let you down.

The Day-Date reference 228235 is a much more accessible piece than the rest of LeBron James’ watch collection. However, you still won’t be able to pick it up for mere pennies or cents!
The Day-Date 228235 covers everything you’ll need from this prestigious collection. Created in 2016, the 228235 reference is the creme de la creme due to its adherence to the dressy design, but with a few deviations from the standard Rolex styles. Let’s get specific!
At 40mm, the watches are crafted out of Everose gold. This is their patented material, offering a fresh look on pink gold. Originally released in 2005, it is crafted in their own foundries, linking in with the purity and quality of the 18K gold.
Mind you, it can still fend off 100 metres of water resistance via the Twinlock winding crown, screw-down caseback and solid, monobloc middle case. Along the top is a signature aspect of dress watches, the legendary fluted bezel.
Its first purpose was to secure the ring to the case, ensuring the first rate waterproofness, inside and out. However, now the fluting has become a staple of dress watches, due to its elegant design and gorgeous aesthetic.
Onto the dial! Users can get their hands on a fabulous green dial that has a certain woodland feel that is ideal for those hiking expeditions admiring epic sunsets. Its deep green shade allows the Everose gold roman numerals to clearly be distinguished. Furthermore, the sunray finish allows light to be cast throughout, via light brushing against the varnish, highlighting every facet of the face.
Within the watch beats the 3255 calibre. Providing an accuracy of -2/+2 seconds per day, the watches can provide a 70 hour power reserve with functions like the central timekeeping and date apertures in continuous motion.

The Nautilus 5711 Tiffany is perhaps one of the most desirable and attractive watches in the horological world. Of course, LeBron James' watch collection wouldn’t be complete without this in his drawer.
Source - Christie’s
Rocked by Ed Sheeran and Jay-Z among others, The 5711 was first released back in 1976 under reference 3700 which is still one of the most highly sought after Patek Philippe models of all time. Coming in as a phenomenal sports-chic timepiece, the watches later evolved in 2006 into the very formidable 5711.
The 5711 celebrated 30 years of the legendary reference back in 1976, composed of three steel parts that feed into an integrated bracelet. Discontinued in 2022, the 5711 line is no longer available for public consumption. What a terrible shame!
While the 5711 by its own accord is very desirable, they amped things up even further with the triumphant collaboration with Tiffany & Co. Released in 2021 to celebrate 170 years of the Tiffany & Co and Patek Philippe team-up, they opted to re-design the Nautilus line.
One of the main design codes of the Nautilus 5711/1A Tiffany is the Tiffany dial face that emanates out from the octagonal bezel and ears on either side of the case. This robin-egg colour is associated with Tiffany, and they even patented the colour in 1998.
Bearing 170th Anniversary 1851-2021 -Tiffany & Co - Patek Philippe on the caseback, there is Tiffany & Co text located under the central hands. Time is read via the baton style hour markers that have a strip of lume through their centres.
Capped at just 170 pieces, these watches are very rare and almost impossible to get your hands on. Remember, a model even sold at a New York auction in 2021 for around £5.1 million!

You can no longer buy a Patek Phillipe Nautilus 5711 Tiffany at retail as it’s been discontinued. However, it sold on the secondary market for upwards of £1.2 million as of June 2024.

Reference 5980 has become a captivating line, designed for the gentleman that loves horology, but also wants to get a tad wet by dipping his horological toe in the waters.
Source - Christie’s
Introduced in 2006, the reference was unveiled at Basel Fair to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the legendary 3700/1 reference produced by iconic watch designer, Gerald Genta, of said Royal Oak creative status. LeBron James chooses this model due to its role as part of the beautiful Nautilus line, but because it’s not a standard steel variation.
Sized at 40mm of pure 18K rose gold, this line features a brushed octagonal bezel and lugs, alongside polished elements on the chamfered edges and “ears” on either side of the case. The design of reference 5980/1R is a faithful ode to the classic Patek Philippe Nautilus, due to the dual ear construction and prominent bezel. This sits hand in hand alongside the equally 18K rose gold bracelet.
For the dial, the watches go a sort of Halloween pitch-black, allowing the rose gold baton hour markers and hands to clearly stand out, especially since they have a strip of lume running through their centres. The date aperture situated at 3 o’clock adds a useful layer of complication to the pieces.
However, that’s not all! At 6 o’clock, there is a chronograph subsidiary dial nicknamed “bulls eye”. Noted for first being spotted on reference 5960, the chronograph design shows an hour scale on the inner ring and a minutes scale on the outer ring.
Within the timepiece is the 28-520C calibre, providing a weekend-proof 55 hour power reserve and sublime accuracy of around -3/+2 seconds per day. You won’t be caught napping with this bad boy strapped on.

LeBron James is a complicated man. After all, a gentleman with a plethora of awards like Most Valuable NBA Player, All-NBA Team and All-Defensive Team must know something that we don’t…
So, what does one of the planet’s greatest sporting icons do with such great power wield? He opts for the Uri Geller mind-bending Sky Moon Celestial 6102R. This one is truly from another planet. It is a clear descendant of the very attractive reference 5102 from 2002, due to a combination of moonphase, astronomical and general time functions.
However, the 6102R seeks to progress these complications even further. Initially released at Baselworld 2015, the 44mm x 9.8mm watches have a sizable width, but an accessible height.
Crafted out of pink gold, we like their immense luxury and ostentatious allure, especially since the bezel, lugs and case sides are entirely polished. You may have spotted the two crowns. These relate to the winding and time setting at 2 o’clock, as well as altering the moon and sky chart at 4 o’clock.
The dial utilises not one but three sapphire crystal discs, to show the night sky, the phases and orbit of the moon, and the sky chart and milky way for the last one. It’s almost on par with the IWC Portugieser Eternal Calendar with the ability to track the moon accurately for 45 million years. They all combine to allow users to study the nocturnal sky in the northern hemisphere.
There are two skeletonised hands that cover the hours and minutes of the mean solar time, and a handy ellipse that's built beneath the sapphire crystal, reveals the portion of the sky that is seen from Geneva.
The black sapphire-crystal disks allow users to see the sky and moon phases, while a transparent sapphire crystal disk covers the sky-chart and Milky Way. Within the timepiece is the 240 LU CL C calibre, providing a 48 hour power reserve and 21,600 VpH.
Perhaps the Professor Brian Cox of luxury watches, we can understand its cosmic wristworthy presence.

Trying to understand the motivations behind LeBron James’ watch collection would be like trying to decipher a Dostoevsky novel. From the highly classical Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo 50th Anniversary to the rare Rolex Oyster Perpetual “Tiffany”, there are no common themes behind the pieces, aside from one… They are all ultra-rare and fervently in-demand! Why wouldn’t they be?
Nevertheless, we are sensitive to our devoted audience. How can you be expected to choose from such an expansive lineup? Be it Rolexes, Patek Philippe’s and even Richard Mille…the list is almost as big as his property portfolio, estimated to be worth in the region of $103 million. This includes a whopping 13,000 square feet of land in Beverly Hills that set him back more than $36 million
We’ve put in the leg work and travelled so far so you don’t have to. We’ve provided you with the exhaustive list of LeBron James’ watch collection from the outer ring to caseback.
If we’ve stimulated some horological impulse within you, or are looking to scratch that itch to buy a watch owned by one of the greatest NBA players ever…Would you be interested in a place that offers not only peerless service and quick turnaround, but the best possible prices on all top Swiss watch brands? We don’t need any rebounds to tell you where to go.
Time is ticking…
