A New Year is well underway and with it comes the potential for you to get your watch game ticking along nicely.
Now, have you checked all your sources? Decided that Jaeger-LeCoultre is the brand for you in 2024? You may be wondering a few things such as what is the best Jaeger-LeCoultre to buy right now, which JLC models hold value and is JLC a good brand?
With a history stretching back to 1833, founder Antoine LeCoultre started a small workshop which later amassed into one of the biggest luxury watch brands to date. Since 2000, they have been a key part of Richemont’s umbrella, alongside other top tier brands like IWC, Panerai and A. Lange & Söhne.
Releasing over 430 patents and around 1300 calibres, Jaeger LeCoultre have cemented themselves as huge players.
This includes being the go-to brand for calibres as expressed through brands like Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet using their influential Calibre 920. Yes, this is the only calibre used by all three members of the Holy Trinity.
Releasing the Reverso Grande Complication à Triptyque in 2006, it was the first watch to use three dials, all of which are powered by just one movement. Yes, JLC are not just a giver of great horology…they keep a lot of the good stuff for themselves.

Released in 2023, Jaeger-LeCoultre took to the Reverso collection in order to produce an insanely complicated Hybris Artistica Calibre 179.
For those who aren't in the know, the collection is the product of necessity.
British soldiers were stationed in India and took to playing polo in the early 1900s. While playing the sport, the crystals on the timepieces would shatter upon impact, so they sought to remedy this by making the case flippable in 1931.
Therefore, the caseback would be presented and the face would be safely protected whilst in the heat of sporting battle. Skip to the contemporary era and it has kept its practicality.
However, it has been the timekeeping canvas for the majority of the brand's innovative design and updates.
Step forward, the Hybris Artistica Calibre 179.
Sized at 51.20mm x 31mm thick, the pink gold watches not only look fabulous, but have a lot of power inside to rival Lionel Messi’s left foot. We will get to that in a second or two…
Designed with an instantly recognizable rectangular case shape, the general size codes are not too far fetched from standard models. They offer two contrasting faces on either side of the case.
One is the epitome of avant-garde art and creativity. The other is used as a technical platform and a display of epic craftsmanship that they are so revered for.
On the front is a stunning, navy blue lacquered face that's hand applied across the plates and bridges. This is the same side that features a skeletonised gyrotourbillon feature. The gyrotourbillon is without doubt the tour de force of the timepiece.
Undergoing intricate bevelling that requires 14 hours of work just for the cage of the Gyrotourbillon, this was initially created by JLC back in 2004 as a multi-axis function to ensure gravity could have no impact.
The Gyrotourbillon alone requires 123 components and is the brand's fastest variation to date.
General timekeeping is viewed just above the complication with an off-centre face at 12 o’clock. Flip it over and you will see another set of hands that relates to a different time zone sitting alongside a 24 hour indicator.
The Gyrotourbillon is present on the reverse side as it is entirely skeletonised throughout these wonderful watches. This gives the appearance that it's floating! Flashback to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Spider-Man anyone?
Strapped onto a black alligator leather strap, we recommend you only wear your finest threads with this particular piece.
- Capped at 10 pieces, you can buy a Jaeger-LeCoultre at retail upon requesting a price as of February 2024.

The JLC Polaris Chronograph Q902843J was released in 2023 as another addition to this growing lineup.
Truth be told, it doesn’t have the longevity of The Reverso as it was only released in 2018. However, its roots run deeper than that…back to the late 1960s following the release of the Memovox Polaris dive watch.
But, we remain firmly in 2024 and therefore, we are analysing the inspired Polaris Chronograph, one of their finest luxury sports watches.
At an industry standard sports inspired watch size of 42mm, the steel timepieces are rather thick at 13.39mm. We won’t hold that against it as the sumptuous lugs and slim bezel are perfect in making this feel ergonomic on the wrist.
Nice one guys, you’ve moved the tachymetric scale on the dial, leaving the sumptuous bezel alone!
An excellent everyday driver, the steel crown may appear a bit of an eyesore, but it’s actually in memory of the model from the 1960s, which adds to the solid 100 metre water resistance! Breitling may have their classic cars but JLC outrun them with this crafty chronograph.
Fitted with a tachymetric scale on the inner flange, the 60 at the top and the small dots below, each number is painted orange for maximum legibility. One step in and we are given a grey chapter ring with the white, tooth shaped hour markers taking centre stage.
The numerals located at 12 and 6 are Arabic to make a clear distinction.
The grey sheen is lacquer that's hand applied, ensuring the graduation from grey to black is done smoothly. The centre ring is where the sub counters appear.
Given black backgrounds, they are composed of a small seconds reader at 9 o’clock and a 30 minute counter based at 3 o’clock.
Given a sapphire caseback, they are powered by the Calibre 761. Offering a solid 28,800VpH, the movement is made up of two barrels in order to reach a very respectable 65 hour power reserve.
Equipped with a beige canvas strap, they look ideal against a tan suede jacket or classic black sports coat.
- You can buy a Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Chronograph at retail for £13,500 as of February 2024.

Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon is perhaps one of the more complicated members of the Master Thin lineup.
The entire range is inspired by the LeCoultre Calibre 145 originating from 1907 after David LeCoultre who was challenged to create an ultra thin calibre. Now, they are still as slender as Victoria Beckham…but with let’s just say more va va voom!
Measuring 40mm, these pink gold watches have a thickness of around 12.13mm thick which compensates for the beating Calibre 978 within. Entirely polished, including the razor thin bezel, the eyes simply cannot stray away from the blue hues on the dial.
Featuring a guilloché pattern that stretches tastefully cut lines from the centre to the periphery, this is entirely hand applied, ensuring the lines are made with absolute precision. Furthermore, the dial features Grand Feu enamel to bolster the depth of the blue shades.
At 6 o’clock is a skeletonised tourbillon that's surrounded by a laser-engraved, pink gold seconds track. The hour markers and hands are tapered, in keeping with the flowing and gentle design codes of the watches.
Did anyone mention a rose engine lathe? Designed to decorate dials, they offer intricate patterns and aesthetics that can cover styles like guilloché.
The watches are powered by the Calibre 978. Beating at 28,800VpH, the movement has an almost weekend-proof 45 hour power reserve, this is a hardcore enthusiasts nerdy dream come to fruition.
Strapped onto a blue alligator leather strap, this would look great alongside your freshly polished brown brogues and that tailored navy blue suit jacket for the office.
You can buy a Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon at retail when the prices are eventually revealed. Estimations look to be around £100,000 as of February 2024.

Welcoming the lunar new year 2024, JLC has released the aptly named ‘Dragon’ inspired Reverso. In fact, we’ve covered the 9 best dragon-inspired watches that got our hearts on fire:
Among the legions of other brands that committed to the Lunar New Year like IWC’s limited edition Portugieser, it could be argued that JLC’s edition is the best of them all. That’s for you to decide.
Sized at 45.5mm x 27.4mm thick, the rose gold Reverso adheres to the classic design of a rectangular shape featuring sleek tapered edges and thorough polishing. The front of the watch is made up of a stunning black enamelled dial that’s complemented with a Grand Feu flourish.
Requiring not one but five layers of enamel, just this process alone took at least 8 hours over a number of days. Fitted with tapered golden hour markers and hands, they clearly stand out against the dark black background.
If you decide to flip the watch over (you know you want to), a dragon motif is exposed for all and sundry to gawp at.
Engraved into the pink gold case, the Grand Feu enamel goes around it, allowing the creature's scales (all of which are hand drawn with black rhodium) to contrast against the sandblasted clouds. Meticulous to the nth degree.
This is achieved through a master engraver using modelled engraving. This essentially means they used around 10 different sized chisels to sculpt the pink gold material to achieve the perfect depth against the enamel dial.
Requiring steady hands of both master enamellers and engravers, the watch is finished with aplomb in the storied halls of their Métiers Rares Atelier.
Powered by the rectangular shaped calibre 822, the Reverso Tribute Enamel Dragon movement offers a 45 hour power reserve alongside a 21,600VpH, with the mechanical movement totalling 108 parts.
Strapped onto a black alligator leather band, we can see you adorning this piece with khaki chinos and a sky blue shirt.
- You can buy a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Enamel Dragon at retail for around £85,000 as of February 2024.

The Master Grande Tradition Calibre’s are the great flagships of their portfolio. After all, the brand has made over a whopping 1260 calibres and 400 patents so they certainly have plenty to shout about.
Taking inspiration from 19th Century timepieces, the Master Grande Tradition Calibre 985 is crafted out of pink gold and measures 42mm. Given a rounded shape with a polished bezel, it sets the perfect frame for the sublime dial to emanate.
Given a grey shade with a grained finish, the watches are fitted with gilt baton hour markers and sword shaped hands. A black, 60 minute scale runs along the dials periphery, allowing the contrasting sub-counters and tourbillon to be promoted.
Fitted with a sub counter residing at 12 o’clock which covers the perpetual calendar, there is another moonphase counter at 3 o’clock and another at 9 o’clock which reads the day. At 6 o’clock is a skeletonized, cylindrical tourbillon which gives optimal legibility.
This is powered by the Calibre 985. This movement skips away at a steady 28,800VpH with a 45 hour power reserve. It’s attached to a brown alligator leather strap, meaning this is a great piece for a simple grey suit or a navy blue jumper and white suit shirt.

Omega gave us the Dark Side Of The Moon. Now JLC brings us The Master Ultra Thin Moon which takes the technical superiority of the brand and marries it with a beautifully presented case and dial.
Source - Jaeger
Continuing the brands legacy of creating super slim timepieces, the Master Ultra Thin Moon crafted out of pink gold case and bezel and kept to a very manageable 39mm.
What is it with modern wearers and smaller wristwear? Furthermore, they are incredibly thin at just 9.3mm which makes this a dream to wear.
Sure, it's only capable of reaching 50 metres of water resistance, but that's what you should expect for an out and out dress watch. Save this for special occasions, fancy Michelin starred restaurants or opulent dinner parties!
The dial is given an intense blue sheen with a sunray finish to promote the tapered hour markers and Dauphine hands. The combination of pink gold and the rich blue hue is a brilliant match up of contrasting accents.
At 6 o’clock is the only complication, a moon phase indicator with a date chapter ring.
The watches are powered by the Calibre 925, a hardy movement which reliably provides a 28,800VpH and a long-lasting 70 hour power reserve. At just 4.9mm thickness, this is a top movement for the slim watch.
This slinky beauty in all its precious metal glory is prime for those looking to appear sharp for highly formal events. Locked onto a blue alligator leather strap, we envisage you wearing this watch with a soft grey shirt beside wash-blue jeans.
- You can buy a Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon at retail for £22,000 as of February 2024.

As we’ve already mentioned, the Reverso line has expanded to incorporate a range of creative themes and styles. Sometimes however, there’s nothing wrong with looking through your past and taking some inspiration.
Source - Jaeger
They certainly took note of this advice by releasing a fresh Tribute Duoface Tourbillon in 2023. Inspired by a platinum edition of the same title released in 2018, this limited edition model was quickly snatched up, leaving most horophiles gasping at thin air.
So, they have given us another chance…this time in pink gold!
Sized at 45.5mm x 27.4mm, the watches are a miniscule 9.15mm thick which makes this an ideal wear for the office and to parade your dress watch status. Looking at the front, the dial is silvered like the IWC Mark XX with a sunray brushed aesthetic.
Given golden baton hour markers and tapered hands, there is even the iconic railroad track around the watch's periphery.
This is Art Deco to the max. Cartier, you can leave your Tank at home..or on the battlefield!
Turn the watch over to expose a completely contrasting dial. While the front is very minimalist with sleek hour markers and hands, the back is covered with clous de Paris guilloché across the board.
There is a black off-centre, sunray-brushed dial at 12 o’clock with pink gold hands and hour markers. This simultaneously shows the second time zone majestically.
Featuring skeletonised elements around the dial such as a day and night indicator, this all sits above a flying tourbillon function with a seconds ring. This runs through both dials allowing light to be cast through when you take the watch out of its cradle.
Powered by the Calibre 847, the movement offers a rather uninspiring 38 hour power reserve and a 21,600VpH. Totalling 254 components, the calibre may not offer the best stats, but this piece looks too good to be ignored! Locked onto a black alligator leather strap, we can picture you wearing this with grey chinos and a navy blue suit jacket for that James Bond beachside bar style allure.
- You can buy a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Duoface Tourbillon at retail when you request a price as of February 2024.

Watches and Wonders 2023 yielded a plethora of excellent watches across a host of brands. Need we mention Rolex 1908? How about IWC’s freshly updated Ingenieur line? Let’s not get lost in the rabbit hole of the best watches from Watches and Wonders 2023 and instead focus on their stunning Reverso Tribute Small Seconds!
Source - Jaeger
With an accessible case size of 45.6mm by 27.4mm, they are crafted out of pink gold. Furthermore, they know the demands of the public. They have slimmed down to 7.56mm which is only a good thing for the modern wearer.
Remember, even dive watches are reducing in size like the much talked about Tudor Pelagos 39mm.
The front dial would appear quite ordinary in line with most of the models. The hour markers are crafted out of pink gold and tapered, just like the Dauphine style hands that read the railroad track and batons.
However, in this instance, the main change comes in the form of the dial colour.
Given a rich burgundy shade with a sun-ray finish, light can be cast throughout the entire face and boast every detail of the dial. The colour is attained through successive layers of lacquer that allows the depth to change depending on the environment.
At 6 o’clock is a small-seconds complication. Interestingly, this model deviates away from the complicated dual face styling and instead opts for a solid caseback as per the original models.
In the engine room is the Calibre 822. The movement offers a 21,600VpH and a 42 hour power reserve. Not quite enough to take away on a long weekend but sufficient for flaunting at that film premiere.
At an extraordinary 2.94mm thickness, it’s the ideal calibre for such a slender model. Connected to a burgundy calfskin leather strap, you can pull this off with blue jeans alongside a white polo shirt.
- You can buy a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Small Seconds at retail for £21,900 as of February 2024.

The Master Control line was originally launched in 1992 as a celebration of the Maisons impeccable watchmaking heritage. We’re talking circular cases, minimalist dials and enough nostalgia to match the Sean Connery as James Bond fandom.
Following the round watches of the 1950s, the steel, 40mm pieces are executed perfectly with a gently sloping bezel and gentle curvature along the lugs.
Yielding satin brushing along the case sides that allows the polished bezel to be promoted, they feature squared pushers on either side of the crown.
The silver sunray-brushed dial offers a beautiful combination of understated elegance with complexity which is key for the collection. Featuring blue chronograph hands and a blue moonphase disc, the colour scheme is very minimalist to promote the absolute purity of these novelties.
Between the tapered hour markers and the Dauphine hands lies a pulsometer scale on the periphery of the dial. It’s got our pulses racing. In essence, its purpose is to measure heart rates per minute which is useful if you are watching the World Cup final.
There are chronograph and triple calendar functionality in the subcounters and apertures.
For example, there is a day and month aperture below 12 o’clock, a moonphase sub-counter at 6 o’clock, a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and a chronograph seconds sub counter at 9 o’clock.
They are powered by the Calibre 759 which offers a 28,800VpH and a 65 hour power reserve. That’s enough time to take your Porsche for a spin round the streets of Monaco and still have a moment to witness the Grand Prix.
Placed on a brown leather strap, we can see you adorning this with an all beige suit or a dark green jumper and black jeans.

The Polaris is one of their out and out sports lines that defines itself on durability and resistance to outside forces. Not quite one for the Globes!
Developed from 1968 (one year before the legendary Speedmaster landed on the moon) upon the release of the Memovox Polaris, the design codes follow the same oversized design that prides legibility over quiet beauty.
Crafted out of steel, this edition is 42mm and quite chunky at 13.92mm.
Capable of reaching 200 metres of water resistance, the rounded steel case with polished bezel is secure, despite it having an exhibition caseback. Luxurious and hardwearing? It ticks all our timekeeping boxes!
Given a black sunburst dial with a grained outer ring, the bâton à facette (or faceted stick for the English) hands are filled with lume, just like the combination of triangular and Arabic hour markers.
A mean and moody piece, the inner bezel features an opaline finish that allows the 60 minute counter to be clearly readable. They are powered by the Calibre 899. Offering a 70 hour power reserve alongside a 28,800VpH, the automatic movement is only 4.64mm thick.
The Polaris collection is worn by Superman himself, Henry Cavill. Fixed onto a black rubber strap, you can rock this alongside a burgundy jumper and dark blue jeans.

For the man who needs to live his life in emotional complexity, he needs a watch that can accompany his impromptu fleeing to Amsterdam or late night strolls in the park. No, this is not the newest version of the Cadburys Milk Tray ad.
Enter the beautiful Duomètre Quantième Lunaire.
Featuring the legendary Dual Wing concept, they are as complex as one of Donald Trump’s lawsuits. Essentially, they are fitted with two separate barrels which offer power to two separate hour-minute and moon phase calendar mechanisms.
These mechanisms are powered by a single organ which achieves maximum precision.
Crafted out of pink gold, the 42mm watches are quite large with a 13.58mm thickness and thoroughly polished across the top of the case including the bezel.
Fitted with a silver dial, there are various finishes such as graining, allowing the polished numerals on the off centre dial at 3 o’clock.
Fitted with a 60-minute scale on the periphery of the dial, it frames the sub counter design, totalling a moonphase at 9 o’clock and a small seconds indicator at 6 o’clock.
There is also a jumping stop seconds function that allows them to achieve accuracy of around 1/6th of a second.
This is powered by the Calibre 381. Running the moon phase indicator, flyback seconds and highly precise jumping seconds function, it offers a respectable 50 hour power reserve alongside a 21,600VpH.
This is linked onto a brown alligator leather strap, allowing you to pull it off with a blue chequered shirt or a V-neck burgundy jumper. For those who like complications this is definitely one of the best Jaeger-LeCoultre watches with added flex appeal.

Bryan Adams may have regaled us music fans about the summer of 69. But what were you doing in the twelve months before that? The original Polaris from 1968 was released with a large case and an alarm function which became invaluable for the diving community.
This is because it gave an audible signal that reminded divers it was time to return to the surface.
This latest edition retains the sporting heritage of the watches, but dresses them up in a very stylish case which allows them to be worn for birthdays, bar mitzvahs and everything in between.
Crafted at 42mm of polished and brushed steel along the case and bezel, they are quite large with a thickness of around 15.63mm. Delivering 300 metres of water resistance, they can easily resist your day to day trials.
It’s a perfect piece for the optimal durability in classic steel. Who needs bizarre materials like recycled coffee capsules as per Hublot Big Bang UNICO Nespresso Origin 42mm?
Complete with a blue dial, it comprises an opaline diving scale on the outer ring, a grained inner ring and a sunburst finished centre ring. There are orange elements such as from the triangle at 12 o’clock to “15” on the internal diving scale and small dots beneath 30 and 45.
Filled with luminescence, nearly as bright as the Las Vegas strip, they offer optimal legibility in the darkest of conditions, including the murky waves when diving. They utilise baton and Arabic numerals alongside openworked hands.
Incorporating an automatic winding movement that beats at 28,800VpH and provides a 44 hour power reserve, the Polaris Mariner Memovox is fitted with a steel bracelet.
In terms of style stakes, we recommend you wear this with a plain white suit shirt and a black tie for the slicked back office look. Yep, you can also wear this bracelet with swimming trunks when touching down on sandy beaches in the Maldives!
- You can buy a Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Mariner Memovox at retail for £19,800 as of February 2024.

Sometimes the most beautiful things require a little effort before they are discovered. Luckily for us, they offer us stunning styles on two different sides!
This 49.4mm x 29.9mm case is crafted out of steel and given a thickness of around 11.14mm. Water resistant to just 30 metres, (oh the shame!), we predict that these watches may not be the best for diving or waltzing around on waterskis, but rather on your private boat.
The front of them are given a blue sunray brushed design with highly legible steel hour markers and hands across the railroad style track on the dial’s periphery.
But what’s under the bonnet? Say hello to a black ring atop a skeletonised background. Leave the excess colours to Barbie. But don’t be fooled, there’s plenty of Kenergy in our article about Ryan Gosling sporting three vintage TAG Heuer watches?
This side also features steely, applique hour markers and tapered Dauphine hands. There is a retrograde chronograph function at 6 o’clock which equally uses a black ring like the floating face above to determine the date.
The cool design of the blue face alongside the avant-garde styling of the skeletonised caseback shows their unbridled enthusiasm for pushing the boundaries of horology to the max.
The timepieces are fitted with the Calibre 860 and have a 28,800VpH frequency as well as a 52 hour power reserve, the 5.44mm thick movement is made up of 292 components and comes with a choice of black or blue leather strap.
With just under a three day power reserve, you could leave this for a few days and return to it beating.
Want to look the part in the office or as an invitee to London Fashion Week? We can see you looking very suave with this alongside a turquoise suit shirt accompanied with beige suit trousers.

What Is The Best JLC Watch?
The best model is completely up for debate. While some thoroughly respect the heritage and influence behind the Reverso model, others plead that the Polaris line is the ultimate sports collection with its dive influenced heritage and highly legible dial.

The most expensive JLC watch is the Hybris Mechanica Grande Sonnerie. Totalling 26 complications, (take that Jay-Z with your paltry 20 complications found in the Grandmaster Chime 6300G as seen at the Grammys) they include incredibly complex functions like the Sonnerie chiming mechanism and two power reserve indicators.
With a movement totalling over 1300 pieces, the platinum Hybris Mechanica watches are limited to just 30 pieces and estimated to be worth around £1.9 million.
Is JLC Worth Buying?
Yes, they are certainly worth buying.
Known for their extremely innovative designs and a reputation as one of the most inventive watch brands of all time, JLC has over 180 years of watchmaking experience.
They utilise excellent materials to craft their pieces and have since built up a reputation as a phenomenal brand due to their technical skill with around 400 patents made and their legendary designs such as The Master Ultra Thin lines.
Which JLC Holds Value?
The best watches that hold value are those that are rare or limited edition. Unfortunately, the standard models are more likely to lose value as they do not have the selling power or brand exclusivity compared with other major players such as Rolex, Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe.
For example, models like the Master Grande Tradition Grande Complication 187.3.46.S consists of a sky-chart indicator, flying tourbillon and a minute repeater that's fitted with trebuchet hammers to produce a beautiful chime.
It sold at Christie’s auction in 2014 for around £319,000.
#Is JLC An Investment?
To a certain degree dependent on the model or reference. They are classed by some as an investment as they are a high quality luxury brand.
Releasing the calibre 920 which is the only ebauche movement used by Holy Trinity members, Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin and Patek Philippe, the brand is at the forefront of technical excellence.
Furthermore, they have the ability to last for a long time due to the quality of the materials and the skill behind the specific movements.
What Kind Of Person Wears JLC?
They are a top brand that’s worn by those that appreciate horology. The watches are certainly not cheap either, meaning the person is willing to pay for high quality timepieces for endless style, first rate technical precision and as a possible investment.
Though we don’t endorse the latter of course as it is the pleasure of wearing above all.
Owning a JLC is a deep connection to one of the oldest watch brands around, showing that you know your timekeeping beans.
Suffice to say, there’s a reason why stars ranging from the past like Charlie Chaplin to the present such as Leonardo Di Caprio opt for this most expensive watch brand on their wrist.
Stylish, timeless and capable of lasting the distance, this is a brand for the horological aficionado.
Is JLC Better Than Cartier?
For us, it’s Jaeger-LeCoultre.
While Cartier sells around 600,000 models per year, they are capped at 95,000 which may make their watches more exclusive due to their scarcity.
Furthermore, Cartier is typically associated with other strands of jewellery such as necklaces and rings, while JLC is exclusively a high quality watch brand.
Generally, you can expect JLC watches to be valued higher than Cartier watches, but this is certainly not applicable across every single model. It’s recommended you do some discovery yourself.
Cartier has a range of excellent and well known models, including the Tank, Santos De Cartier and the iconic Crash. JLC also have their range of phenomenal models which have demonstrated incredible levels of desirability such as the Reverso, Polaris and Master Ultra Thin.
Both Cartier and JLC rest under the Richemont group, alongside other notable brands like Panerai, meaning deciphering each individual brand value is quite hard to determine.
Therefore, we can safely assume that JLC is the victor in this duel. As a more valuable horological brand offering more desirable and sought after timepieces, JLC’s influence does not just stop at releasing 1260 calibres.
They are at the forefront of artisanal craftsmanship which makes JLC better than Cartier.
What Watch Will Increase In Value?
The JLC watches that are most likely to increase in value are those that are rare, scarce or have desirability among them. This is because the level of supply is cut which allows demand to naturally rise over time.
For example, the Gyrotourbillon 185.3.08.S is crafted out of white gold and is gem-set.
Featuring a digital display chronograph alongside a day/night indicator, the main aspect is the spherical flying gyrotourbillon at 6 o’clock which rotates at around 2.5 times per minute. Capped at 8 models, it sold at a Christie’s auction in 2018 for around £227,500.
Where Does JLC Rank?
It’s estimated that JLC currently ranks around 14th as a Swiss watch company. Missing out to other brands like Rolex, Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe, brands like Tudor and Blancpain rank 15th and 19th respectively.
What Makes JLC So Expensive?
JLC watches are so expensive due to the level of quality and engineering within the watches.
With a heritage dating back more than 150 years, they have achieved a great deal including being the first brand to produce a movement with small complications in 1866 and releasing the legendary Gyrotourbillon I in 2004…home to a perpetual calendar and double retrograde indicators.
Using fine materials like platinum, the movements are guaranteed to be of the highest standard and guarantee longevity. Associated with legends like brand ambassador Lenny Kravitz to Jamie Foxx, they yield a sublime fanbase which fervours demand.
