Daniel Craig Puts Watch Enthusiasts On High Alert Flexing A New Unseen White Dial Omega Speedmaster
“The idea of regretting not doing this seemed insane to me. Sitting in the corner at a bar at age 60, saying: 'I could've been Bond. Buy me a drink.' That's the saddest place I could be. At least now at 60 I can say: 'I was Bond. Now buy me a drink.” Daniel Craig

One of the most notable collaborations between Daniel Craig and the Biel giant is the creation of the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M model specifically for his portrayal of James Bond in the 007 films. This watch has become an iconic symbol of both the character and the company, founded in 1903.
As worn for many decades by Prince William after being gifted it by his late mother Princess Diana, The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M reflects the timeless elegance and adventurous spirit shared by Daniel Craig and James Bond. In No Time To Die from 2021, the last James Bond movie he appeared in, Craig sported The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition, which, like some fine wines, is the perfect melange of new and vintage worlds. The old school aesthetics come in the shape of the matte brown dial with a contemporary titanium case. Omega Speedmaster Alaska Project
- Reference: 311.32.42.30.04.001
- Released: 2008
- Limited Edition: Yes, 1,970 pieces
- Secondary market value: In excess of £14,000

An air of mystery to rival the next Swatch collab surrounds our next best Speedy pick, the aptly titled Speedmaster Alaska Project. Though this one has no linkage or connection to America’s 49th state, which entered its realm on January 3rd 1959. Boasting 3 million lakes and more than 100,000 glaciers, this icy cool Alaskan contender is shrouded in fog.
Measuring 39.5mm, The Omega Speedmaster Alaska Project took its cues from a series of tests conducted in the 1970s by NASA to improve the watches performance in extreme conditions, This was carried out specifically for use in space missions.
The Alaska Project featured several modifications from the standard Speedmaster Professional. It had a unique white dial with a red aluminium outer case to improve readability in low light conditions. However, this model had a larger, wider arrow-shaped red second hand that featured on the Moonswatch Mission To Mars, making it easier to read the chronograph function. The red case material is another throwback to the heat-shield cases from the Alaska Project novelties some five decades ago.
Additionally, the Alaska Project Edition featured a removable anodized aluminium outer case that protected the watch from temperature extremes. The case could be reversed to provide either a shiny reflective surface for thermal protection or a matte surface for optimal legibility in bright sunlight. Powered by the 1861 manual winding movement and complete with 18 jewels, this is as elusive as Lord Lucan.
Although it never went into production, some prototypes were created and used by NASA during simulated space missions to test their performance. In 2008, the brand unveiled a limited edition run with a nod to the Alaska II prototypes, equipped with their special heat shields made from aluminium.
Today, these versions are highly sought after by collectors for their ultimate rarity and historical significance.

Although not the star of our show thanks to the black subdials, unlike Daniel Craig’s all white dial wonder, The Omega Speedmaster Tokyo Edition are shown in not one but five special versions.
With a nod to the postponed Tokyo Olympics which was postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, these watches were designed in order to commemorate the brand's connection to Japan. The watch has a 42mm stainless steel case with a ceramic bezel and a matching dial symbolising the colours of the Olympic rings with bezels in blue, green, yellow, black and red with inspiration taken from streets of Tokyo.
Housing a textured surface that evokes the city's bustling energy. The sub-dials also have a contrasting tinge of colour, which adds a pop of colour to the overall design. For more than 80 years, The Swiss brand has been a star maker as Official Timekeeper at the Olympic Games, participating on more than 27 occasions.
Their trusted and close knit partnership is instilled in this highly coveted collection of five watches where speed and extreme reliability go hand in hand. As consistent as Manchester City’s consecutive Premier League titles, we like the stepped dial, baton hour markers as well as the dots and hands which are stuffed like a Christmas turkey with enough lume to sink a ship.
Protecting the movement is a stainless steel case back engraved with "Tokyo 2020" and the logo for the Olympic games. In addition, the dials enjoy a classic "moonwatch" design with three sub-dials for measuring elapsed time. It also has luminous hour markers and hands for easy reading in low-light conditions.
The Tokyo Edition of the Speedmaster is powered by Omega's Co-Axial Calibre 1861 movement, which is a self-winding chronograph movement that offers high precision and reliability.
One of the standout features of the Tokyo Edition is its unique dial design, not to mention stainless steel bracelet with ceramic centre link. As a result, it alludes to a more modern look giving it a luxury sports watch edge. It also includes a special Tokyo Edition engraving on the caseback, which further highlights its limited edition status.
Overall, this Tokyo Edition is a stylish and collectable piece that pays homage to the brand's connection to Japan. Its unique design and high-quality craftsmanship make it a desirable choice for connoisseurs and collectors alike.
Conclusion
We have been rattling our horological brains at Chrono Hunter Towers to determine what special edition or which Speedy this could be.
